I was injured while on a business overseas. My employer sent me to Ventura Urgent Care to process a worker comp claim. The check in process was efficient. Front office staff was friendly and helpful. There was no other patients ahead of me in the waiting room. I was called in to the exam room within about 10 mins, and was told that there’s only 1 other patient ahead of me. But then I was left in the room for more than an hour waiting for the RN. Why??? For cases like mine that do not require “urgent care”, it would be more efficient to be scheduled instead of walk ins.

Went in for a PCR Covid test and my experience was poor. The new computer system did not work. Staff tried to call me four times but for whatever reason it did not work. So I walked into the office to find out what’s going on. They told me they called me four times but couldn’t find me. The new electronic system doesn’t seem to be working that good. I was simply outside just around the corner with my two kids. Overall, I waited a long time about an hour and a half for a simple PCR test that cost $90. The price of 90 bucks is way too much 40 bucks would be more appropriate. All staff member I interacted with were nice and helpful.

When I arrived I checked in w friendly office staff. Because I had a later commitment I asked how long it would be until seen. I was told half an hour, but wasn’t called back to a room for an hour (after checking back in at 50 min). 30 more min for an X-ray (that tech was friendly and efficient - maybe Brian?) and another 30 for a two minute conversation w a doctor. It didn’t feel like there was much knowledge with my specific injury and communication about how to care for it was vague at best - just continue Advil and attend PT. No mention about icing, should I stay off of it, limit use, etc. Finally a nurse or assistant came in (Alex?) with an ankle brace. He didn’t know how to put it on (maybe he should practice beforehand?) and asked me to put my foot on his chest (awkward). Having me stand with my foot on a chair would be more appropriate. He was never able to fully put it on and I left with it haphazardly applied. Once home, a two minute read of the instructions revealed I should wear a sock (he told me I shouldn’t), my foot should go under the padding so laces weren’t directly on my foot (he had my foot over the padding), and my foot should be turned in slightly because it was the left foot (apparently the right foot should be turned out) so the elastic is preloaded when the straps are tensioned. Overall, a disappointing visit. Good to know X-rays came back negative. Also disappointing was the fact that I was 45 min late to my next commitment - if I had known when I first arrived and asked, I may have opted to come back the next day.

Walk-in, chemicals in eyes. Was asked to return the following day by NP, which turned out to be her off day. NP that saw me on the second day rudely asked why I had returned. First NP was sweet and genuinely concerned to care for me properly. The second NP gave me a reason to skip this urgent care in the future.
