This is usually my favorite place to get care. That being said, I went to the facility on Monday evening due to a cat bite. My hand was bleeding and swollen. When I arrived the receptionist was trying to register a family of 6. When I showed her my hand, she said that they had an appointment, but there was something wrong with their records and ID. If any of them, particularly the children were to be seen for an emergency I would understand, but here I was in distress and pain and told to "have a seat." I understand needing appointments for Covid testing, but to have to wait 45 minutes to be seen because there was a problem with registering this family, was ridiculous. I let the receptionist know that since I was there before, my name, insurance would be in their computer. Finally one of the medical staff came out and she too, said it's by appointment only and because they were short staffed I would have to wait. It turns out that the family need injections for something, and finally I was taken in. I was pleased with the care I received - tetanus show and script for antibiotic, and told to watch the wound and the area for a red line which could be cellulitis. I was also told to see my own doctor in 2/3 days, which I did. There should be some protocol that makes a person with a serious injury scene before general care. I know things have changed in most medical offices due to Covid, but there should be some exceptions made due to medical need. Also, to have people check in on the machine in the waiting room is a disaster waiting to happen when you see people wiping their noses (lowering their masks), and coughing directly on top of machine. Receptionist finally entered my information when I let her know that there is no way I will be touching that germ infected machine. I didn't see anyone wipe it down between patients. That being said, exam room was very clean. I doubt whether I'll be using this urgent care facility again. I've heard negative comments about it previously, but I never had a problem before Monday night. I know that the receptionist was overwhelmed and therefore, someone else should assist on other computer to register large families such as the one that was there that night. End of sermon.
