Had a very strange (and scary) experience with AFC urgent care on Mass Ave recently. I went for a minor surgery to get a splinter removed. Splinter wasn't visible but could be felt when squeezed as it was ~1/2" big. I made the PA (not sure if the exact designation) feel it before she numbed the area and made the cut. She cut it and started scraping randomly hoping to hit the splinter but found teeny tiny pieces of something and said that's all there is. "What you are feeling is not the splinter but the infection", she said. I said I have been feeling it exactly the same from the moment it went in; it wasn't infected then, was it? 😃 Not sure if I got unlucky or she was really that incompetent!! I had to squeeze the splinter out for her (it was right there!!) And then with my help she pulled it out. Otherwise she was going to patch me up with an infected splinter that day and horrible things would have happened for sure. I wonder if I couldn't see the cut, who would have helped her? She needs monitoring!! Unfortunately, AFC Arlington is not the only place she works at. That's not all. She ends up prescribing antibiotics but when I went to collect, they were found under same name but different dob. so I did not get to collect them. Unbelievable😃!! Never going back to AFC. Hope I can find the name of that PA so that I avoid anyplace she works at. She was complaining about the quality of the gloves as she couldn't wear them properly but now I am wondering if she didn't have the competence needed to wear them 😂.

One of the most unprofessional experiences I’ve had with a medical facility. I’ve have probably spend close to 3 hours on hold with them, and can’t get any representatives to talk to me about my test results. No one has followed up with me after my test results (it’s been several days after the estimated response time they gave me), and I’ve been treated by angry and disrespectful representatives. I would not recommend this place to anyone, and I regret ever using this place for healthcare.
