I am always appreciative of the connivence this office offers.   Today I had a gentleman doctor and I thought although very upbeat and friendly, I was uncomfortable with the religious questions.  I personally believe there is a time and place, at this appointment was not it.  One, I didn’t feel well and the appointment should have stayed about that.  Two, he is  unaware of my circumstances and that was not the place.  I heard how he had converted, he asked me if I did, and it was very uncomfortable because again he had no idea of my circumstances A suggestion to possibly keep the appointment chatter on a lighter note. People coming in don’t feel well to begin with, any kind of heavy conversation may lead to some awkwardness (and it absolutely did).   Faith, and religion should be off the table for light conversation   Thank you.

The facility on rte 125 north andover was fine once I was seen by the healthcare provider and I have nothing negative regarding the care. BUT the male individual who "sits" at the front reception desk needs to Go. He has zero customer service skills and is clueless and very rude regarding his patient-interaction. He told me "check yourself in over there ( at the kiosk), because I'm busy; so if you don't want to do it yourself, you'll have to wait, because I'm doing something now". I asked what about the other "receptionist" sitting near him. He said: "She's eating, so you'll have to wait; or go some place else". I would like to know who hires people like these? One is "busy eating" [ at front desk] so she can't or won't accommodate checking me in;;; he us busy with "something",,,,so if I don't like being treated in such a derogatory manner by these two morons...he told me I can "go some place else". ! Wow, just Wow. If this is all they can find to "sit" at front desk....I have a suggestion: please have no one "sit" at front desk and get paid for doing nothing. Since there is availability to do self-check-in....then just do away with these two useless airheads.

Charity was great, and I was very happy to be able to have a telemedicine appointment. She was friendly and professional - very patient with me when I was trying to use the camera and show my leg. I feel that she listened to my concerns and didn't rush me. She was caring and sincere. I appreciated her mentioning a smaller ER closer to me after I shared my worries about going to the very busy main hospital. Nobody wants to be in an ER waiting room, especially during a pandemic. Also, she did a great job explaining that the problem could be life threatening, without panicking me. I followed her recommendation, and I will update her (it was fine). I rarely follow up with urgent care healthcare providers, but my very positive experience with her and my results would be good to share to share with her.

Made my appointment online arrived on time finished my paperwork in my car went in checked in and they called my name in less than ten minutes. The nurse asked the questions she needed. She gave me an eye exam and the doctor came in and I was out of there in no time. Completely impressed with everyone and everything at the Lynn Urgent Care. Hopefully I won’t need to go there anytime soon but if I get sick that’s where I’ll be going.

We had a telehealth visit and then had to go to drive thru to be tested. All the people that I spoke with on the phone were very pleasant and professional. When we went for the test out back the person who did the test was so nice. After getting turned away from other places I was very happy with the people at AFC urgent care. Thank you for being so caring in a scary time in our lives!

The Swampscott MA urgent care staff were professional and efficient. The online questionnaire was tedious--you have to revisit each question if you login twice in a day. This should be improved. I ended up having to trudge through each question four times because It wasn't clear how to arrange a required video call.

Urgent Care in Massachusetts

The residents of Massachusetts are an accident-prone lot, with 84.1 hospital discharges resulting from preventable conditions per 1,000 Medicare enrollees. This figure is one of the highest in America. The state's urgent care facilities can take care of many of these preventable problems, including treating broken bones and lacerations, without the lengthy wait times of emergency rooms.

Healthcare in Massachusetts

The 2013 Patient Access to Care study, released by the Massachusetts Medical Society, found new patients must wait an average of 39 days to see a family medicine physician. Anyone unfortunate enough to live in Franklin County, which has the longest average wait time, typically waits 106 days to see a physician. With just 51% of family physicians accepting new patients, many residents wait even longer for medical care. The percentage of family physicians in Massachusetts opening their books to new patients has dropped by almost 20% in the last seven years.

Urgent Care in Massachusetts

Residents needn't face such dire emergencies to enjoy the services of the state's urgent care centers though. These facilities also boast much shorter wait times than primary care physicians. Satisfied patients have reported receiving a diagnosis and prescription in as little as 20 minutes after their arrival.

Massachusetts' urgent care centers allow patients to seek treatment for non-life threatening conditions without appointment. They can also visit the facilities for X-rays, physical exams, and blood tests. The professional and friendly staff will ensure you receive first-class medical treatment without lengthy waiting times or costly bills. With urgent care centers operating outside standard business hours, including weekends, they're a convenient solution for your healthcare needs.

Urgent Care FAQs

  • How much will an urgent care visit in Massachusetts cost?

The price charged at an urgent care, whether in Massachusetts or elsewhere, will be based on the location, and there are no actual standard costs between the clinics. Assuming you are paying with cash, you might come across an urgent clinic that charges you $50 while another situated some mile away charges you $100 for the same services. The standard cost in urgent care where insurance cover is not involved ranges from $100 to $125. This price is generally the standard price of a visit before extra services. There are a couple of additional care services that could make your appointment to an urgent care costly including x-rays and lab tests, medications and injections (such as immunization), casting broken bones, as well as stitches and splints. If you have a viable insurance plan in place, the standard pay will be between $20 – 50 depending on your insurance coverage and whether you are in contact with the provider.

  • Are Massachusetts urgent care centers open after hours?

Most primary care doctor offices are open during routine work hours, Monday thru Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Conversely, most of the urgent care centers in Massachusetts are available after hours, on weekends, and many holidays. Typical urgent care hours are 8:00 am to 8:00 pm daily, although location-specific hours may vary.

  • Do urgent care centers in Massachusetts take appointments?

Historically, urgent care centers were strictly an on-demand, walk-in healthcare service mode. More recently, as consumer behaviors and expectations have evolved, many urgent care clinics have begun offering book ahead visits, allowing consumers to select a same-day or next-day time that works best for their schedule. Use Solv to find a Massachusetts urgent care center that offers advanced bookings (or appointments) and book online.

  • What is the best urgent care center in Massachusetts?

While it would be easy to provide a list of urgent care centers in and around Massachusetts, 'best' is a challenging term to qualify. For some consumers, that could mean the closest location whereas other people may prioritize patient reviews, service costs, availability, or whether or not the provider accepts their insurance. With the list of locations above, use the filters provided to narrow the results to find the best urgent care for your needs.

  • What is Urgent Care?

Urgent care is available to assist patients that are looking for immediate, convenient medical care. In that manner, they are similar to an emergency room. The difference, however, is that ERs are meant to treat major, life-threatening injuries and illnesses while urgent care centers manage life’s minor bruises and bumps. In simple terms, an urgent care is seen as a walk-in health center that focuses in offering non-emergent health care conditions, including the treatment of the typical illnesses and injuries such as fractures and sprains, cuts and burns, scrapes, stings and bites, flu and cold symptoms, nausea and vomiting, abdominal pain, and much more. Most urgent care facilities offer both diagnostic and preventive care such as well visits, immunizations, STD testing and annual physicals. For regular visits and check-ups on these clinics, you should expect to pay between $20 and $100. The good thing is that most urgent care clinics will accept major PPOs and insurance cover, Medicare, as well as self-pay in the form of credit cards or cash. Urgent care clinics are located in most parts of the country in various regions to offset emergency room visits and provide a gap in healthcare services. They take patients during all hours of operations, which offer a significant convenience to most people who have and continue to undergo the need for sudden and immediate medical attention.
