Everyone was very helpful. I booked the appointment the night before for 9 o’clock when they open. I got right in and Dr. Emanuel came in. He was very thorough and answered all my questions and prescribe medication for me. I have been to urgent care a few times before and everyone is always so wonderful. I would recommend urgent care. I have insurance that covers everything. That was not a worry for me! I had booked my appointment the night before online.

I have waited to write this review as i don't like being negative. I have 2 recent experiences at this office. 1 scheduled appointment and 1 walk in with my 2 yr old after an accident. Both times the wait times and office staff and technicians were fantastic. They all appropriately engaged with my daughter and did their best to make her feel comfortable. Unfortunately I am not happy with the care and service of the Nurse Practioner I saw both times. I feel my daughters head laceration was delt with incorrectly, even after multiple questions about the procedure. After a ER visit and CHLA visit for the same laceration later that day, it was deemed that they would have done the treatment differently and as time had passed there was little that could be done. Basically my 2 yr old will probably end up with more of a scar on her forehead due to method that was used. At my following appointment The Nurse Practitioner asked how my 2 yr old was at my and when I explained she made no comment and seemed uninterested.

Overview of STD Testing in Los Angeles

Who should get tested for STDs?

Anyone who is sexually active should consider getting tested for STDs, especially if they have multiple partners or do not consistently use protection. Certain groups are at higher risk, such as men who have sex with men, individuals with HIV, and those who have been forced to have intercourse or engage in sexual activity against their will. It's crucial to remember that symptoms are not always present with STDs, so regular testing is vital for anyone engaging in sexual activity.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is a critical part of maintaining your overall health. Early detection can prevent many STDs from causing long-term health problems, and it can also help prevent the spread of these diseases. According to the CDC, many STDs are on the rise in the United States, making testing even more important for sexually active individuals.

The increase in STDs in Los Angeles over time mirrors national trends, indicating a broader public health issue.

Risk factors related to STDs in Los Angeles

Several risk factors contribute to the high prevalence of STDs in Los Angeles. These include high rates of unprotected sex, multiple sexual partners, and a lack of regular testing. Additionally, certain demographics, such as young adults and men who have sex with men, are at a higher risk. The city's large population and density also contribute to the spread of STDs. However, with regular testing and safe sex practices, these risks can be mitigated.
