I booked an appointment early in the morning online and showed up to our apt time. Somehow I drove to the location but the staff were so friendly and worked us in. We only had to wait 30 before they called us back. The staff were all so friendly and the provider we saw was so nice and she took time to explain everything to us. I would definitely go back there if we can’t get into our PCP.

I was so shaken by the fever of my infant and didn’t know where to turn. I was able to book an appointment with Urgent care and so glad I did. I absolutely loved the nurses and nurse practitioner that was on staff. From the receptionist and her pleasant manner made me feel easier being at the urgent care. You always hear about these places “being unprofessional” but this particular one will be the one I always go to for an emergency if the time frame and importance of the matter can’t be resolved at my children’s PCP.  If the staff can read this message. From the bottom of my heart I truly appreciate everything you guys did for me yesterday during the challenging time when dealing with my infant. I left knowing so much more than what I came in. Thank you for sharing your gift with my family and know you will be a blessing to others. Kudos to you!!

This is the second time I’ve scheduled an appointment online and upon arrival and already completing the online check-in, there are issues with communication from the front desk.  I was not greeted on either occasion.  I also had to go ask after waiting a considerable amount of time about making my copay.  At both visits, several walk-in patients were called back even though I had a scheduled appointment.  The first time this happened, I waited well over an hour in the waiting room.  During yesterday’s visit I spent almost 2 hours in the waiting room with no communication from anyone.  I have worked the desk at a doctor’s office before and felt a lack of concern when asking for an update.  The provider and the MA were both wonderful, but those at the front didn’t appear to be interested in doing any more than they had to.  Very frustrating to say the least as this seems to have become the trend over the last 2 visits.

I had injured my tailbone and was having lots of pain. I thought an X-ray might reveal if there was any major damage. The staff from the front desk to the radiologist to the physician were absolutely amazing and so helpful. Took their time with me to answer my questions. There was no fracture thankfully. The physician showed me a stretch I could do to alleviate pain when getting out of a chair. It works! He also made several modifications for my office to keep me standing more. We’ve implemented them all and I’m on my way to pain free healing! Thank you so much!

The wait takes a little while but honestly that’s to be expected when you’re at any hospital or clinic. Everyone is very kind and accommodating. Always a very clean clinic. Only thing I would recommend is to turn the tv down in the lobby. When you’re ill and or having a headache all day the last thing you want to hear is the tv blaring. Thanks bunches ladies

Getting Tested for STDs in San Antonio, TX

Who should get tested for STDs?

Anyone who is sexually active should consider getting tested for STDs, especially those with multiple partners or those who have had unprotected sex. Even if you are in a monogamous relationship, it's still important to get tested as some STDs can remain dormant for years before showing any symptoms. According to the CDC, those who are pregnant, have a new partner, or are experiencing symptoms of an STD should also get tested.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is crucial for your health and the health of your partners. Early detection can prevent many STDs from causing severe health problems such as infertility, certain types of cancer, and increased susceptibility to HIV. Regular testing can also help stop the spread of STDs, as many people are unaware they are infected and may unknowingly transmit the disease to others.

Std testing options in San Antonio, TX:

Urgent care and walk-in clinics

Urgent care and walk-in clinics in San Antonio offer convenient and quick STD testing. These clinics often have extended hours and do not require an appointment. Kidz Now Urgent Care and Baylor Scott & White Partner are highly rated clinics in the area that offer STD testing. You can book same-day and next-day testing appointments at each through Solv’s website and mobile app.

Primary care providers

Your primary care provider can also provide STD testing. This can be a good option if you have a strong relationship with your provider and feel comfortable discussing your sexual health with them.

Free STD testing and community health centers

There are also free STD testing centers and community health centers in San Antonio that provide testing services. These centers are a great resource for those who may not have health insurance or who cannot afford the cost of testing.

At-home testing

At-home STD testing is another option available in San Antonio. These tests can be ordered online and completed in the privacy of your own home. The samples are then mailed to a lab for testing and results are usually available within a few days.

Prevalence of STDs in San Antonio

According to the CDC, the prevalence of STDs in San Antonio is higher than the national average. In recent years, there has been a rise in the number of reported cases of chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis. This trend is similar to what is being seen in nearby counties such as McCulloch County and Tom Green County.

Risk factors related to STDs in San Antonio

Several factors contribute to the high prevalence of STDs in San Antonio. These include high rates of poverty, lack of access to healthcare, and low levels of education about STDs. Additionally, certain populations, including young adults and men who have sex with men, are at a higher risk for STDs. It's crucial to understand these risk factors and take necessary precautions to protect yourself and others from STDs.
