Last time I came here, my whole experience was a nightmare. They looked like they changed ownership so I gave another try. The experience was so simple. Everyone was easy to talk too and  I had barely any wait time. The women I saw were pleasant and efficient. I was out the door quickly and my prescription was called in by the time I got to the pharmacy.

The receptionist never greeted me when I entered the office. She was not at the desk but was back in another office talking to another staff member. My first interaction with anyone was when the nurse called my name to be seen. The nurse and Dr were professional and friendly. When I walked back to the front there was still no one at the desk. The receptionist was again in the other room talking to another staff member. I said excuse do I need to check out and she said no you’re good. Very poor communication.

My son needed care immediately after being triage by a nurse from his primary doctor. The Primary doctors office was near closing and suggested the urgent care. I called urgent care and they were very helpful setting an appointment and also seeing my second child for a sports physical. Staff was very friendly and PA was also from Rockford, Illinois, which is my hometown. She was very pleasant and knowledgable and my Children really were comfortable with her

I needed my son to be seen urgently without the wait time of an emergency room. I went online and was able to book an appointment within the hour. When we arrived the front staff was so nice and the care team was so attentive they even started care in the lobby. They listened to my concerns and did everything to make sure my son was taken care of. They also answered all of my questions so thoroughly and friendly. I would HIGHLY recommend Nitehawk. I have had to take my daughter a couple of times and I gladly travel the hour to continue to use them. Thank you all for being so gracious and patient.

Overview of STD Testing in Addison

Who should get tested for STDs?

Anyone who is sexually active should consider getting tested for sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). This is particularly important for those who have multiple sexual partners, are under the age of 25, or are men who have sex with men, as these groups are at a higher risk of contracting STDs. Pregnant women should also be tested, as some STDs can cause complications during pregnancy and may be passed on to the baby. Regular testing is crucial as many STDs often do not show symptoms but can still cause serious health problems if left untreated.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is a key part of maintaining your overall health. Untreated STDs can lead to serious health complications, including infertility, cancer, and increased risk of getting HIV. Additionally, many people with STDs do not experience symptoms, making regular testing the only way to know for sure if you have an STD. Early detection through testing allows for quicker treatment, which can prevent long-term health problems. Furthermore, knowing your status can help prevent the spread of STDs to others.

STD testing options in Addison, TX:

Urgent care and walk-in clinics

Urgent care and walk-in clinics are convenient options for STD testing in Addison, TX. These facilities often offer same-day appointments, making it easy to fit testing into your busy schedule. The Kingsley Clinic and CityDoc Urgent Care, both in Dallas, are highly rated options in the area. You can book appointments at these locations through Solv’s website and mobile app.

Primary care providers

Your primary care provider can also conduct STD testing. If you have a regular doctor you see, this can be a comfortable and familiar setting for your testing.

Free STD testing and community health centers

For those without insurance or with limited financial resources, free STD testing may be available at community health centers in and around Addison. It's important to check with each center about their testing services, as some may offer free testing only on certain days or at certain times.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits are another option for STD testing. These kits can be ordered online, used in the privacy of your own home, and then mailed back to a lab for analysis. This can be a good option for those who value privacy or have difficulty getting to a clinic.

Prevalence of STDs in Addison

Addison, located in Dallas County, has seen a steady increase in STD rates over the past few years, mirroring the trend seen across the country. According to the CDC, Dallas County has one of the highest rates of chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis in Texas. The county's STD rates are also higher than the national average. This indicates a significant need for regular STD testing and education in Addison and the surrounding areas.

Risk factors related to STDs in Addison

Several risk factors may contribute to the high STD rates in Addison. These include a lack of comprehensive sex education, high rates of poverty and uninsured individuals, and stigma around STD testing. Additionally, the close proximity to major cities like Carrollton, Farmers Branch, Richardson, Plano, and The Colony may contribute to the spread of STDs due to increased population movement and interaction. Regular STD testing, education, and access to healthcare services are crucial in addressing these risk factors and reducing the spread of STDs in Addison.
