Took my daughter there for several symptoms including extreme fatigue, shortness of breath and swollen legs with pain. They did a comprehensive blood panel. When the bloodwork came back two days later with results that showed my child's levels in a critical level, a staff member called me that morning at 7:5 am asking us to come back in to get the blood re-drawn. I explained that my child worked until 4pm and I wouldn't be able to return until after that. They said that was fine. When we arrived at approximately 4:30 pm, I requested a copy of the lab results and began googling things while we waited for the blood to be drawn. Even after Midwest was unable to draw any more blood because my child was severely dehydrated they still just recommended to come back the next day try again after drinking tons of water to re-draw the blood. Instead, the next morning after googling the results I took my child to a scheduled (unrelated doctor's appt) and showed the nurse there the lab results I received from Midwest. My child was IMMEDIATELY admitted to the hospital and had to undergo 3 blood transfusions because her blood was at a CRITICAL level. It turns out that my child should have been directed to go to the ER immediately when Midwest first got the results of the bloodwork. Instead it took 24 hours for my child to get the emergent help she needed, which she may not have gotten at all, but for this separate planned doctor's appt. My child could have died because Midwest was negligent. My child worked a full day at her job because Midwest did not express the seriousness of what her bloodwork meant to us and did not direct us to the ER.
