I called in the morning and got an appointment for 11:45 am. I arrived at 11:40 and was in the exam room with an assistant by 11:45 am. The assistant got all my information and left. Within a minute the Doctor walked in. He was very polite and understood what I was telling him. He left and within the time it took to finish the COVID test he was back with the results, I was positive for COVID, and my prescription for meds. It was a very pleasant visit . I would return and give a recommendation to others.

The PA-C was very rushed. I had an eye injury which didn’t look anywhere like conjunctivitis but he diagnosed me with conjunctivitis and prescribed antibiotic eye drops. Two days later I was diagnosed with a completely different condition.

Very Disappointed With the Level of Care We brought my mother to urgent care because she was experiencing severe constipation. The week before, she had been in the emergency room for extreme diarrhea, and afterward she went an entire week without having a bowel movement. Her caregiver had also noticed what appeared to be bulging around her anus, which was an additional concern. My mother has Alzheimer’s disease and is not able to reliably answer medical questions or provide an accurate history herself. As her daughter and caregiver, I was there to provide that information and advocate for her. The ARNP, Melissa, did listen to my concerns and asked questions about whether my mother was passing gas and whether there was gurgling or movement in her abdomen. Based on the information I provided, she said she was concerned about a possible bowel obstruction and recommended that we go directly to the emergency room. I understand that concern about a possible blockage can warrant an ER evaluation. However, I specifically asked Melissa if she could examine my mother because her caregiver had noticed bulging around her anus. She declined to examine her and told me there was really no point because we needed to go to the ER anyway. This was frustrating to me because my mother has Alzheimer’s and cannot reliably communicate what she is experiencing, making a physical examination particularly important. Melissa did provide paperwork when I asked for it, but I felt that she did not initially seem inclined to provide written instructions unless I specifically requested them. I appreciated that she did provide the paperwork once I asked. We went directly to the emergency room, where my mother was seen promptly. The ER physician performed an examination, and when he examined her, he immediately found soft stool in her Depends. This was important information and made me question why my mother had not been physically examined at urgent care when I had specifically pointed out the bulging and concerns about constipation. While I understand that an examination at urgent care might not have completely ruled out a bowel obstruction, it could have provided valuable information and potentially avoided an unnecessary ER visit. The scheduling and wait time at urgent care were fine, and I do appreciate that Melissa recognized that a potentially serious problem needed to be ruled out. My concern is that my mother was sent to the ER without receiving a physical examination at urgent care, despite my specifically pointing out a physical finding that concerned me. I also paid $250 out of pocket because my mother’s Aetna Medicare insurance was not accepted. Given that expense, it was especially frustrating to feel that we essentially paid $250 only to be sent to the emergency room without my mother being examined. Overall, I was very disappointed with the experience. I understand the need to err on the side of caution when a bowel obstruction is a possibility, but I expected my mother’s concerns to be evaluated more thoroughly, particularly because she has Alzheimer’s and relies on her caregiver and family to communicate important symptoms and observations.

Everything was great. The staff was very professional and caring.  We did encounter a problem at the pharmacy. The provider was not Medicare eligible for the RX so they would not cover the cost. The pharmacy suggested we return to the clinic to have the RX rewritten by someone Medicare certified. I believe this issue should be addressed as we paid for the Rx. Otherwise great service.
