I had the misfortune of visiting this office yesterday. I was given paper to fill out that made me question the way business is done in this office. The paper work asked for my husband and I social security numbers. Because I have worked for an insurance company before I knew that that information was not needed to submit a claim. I left the office and immediately contacted my insurance and spoke to someone in the claims department and asked if my social security number is needed to submit a claim and she stated No. I then asked her to remain on the phone with me while I go back into the office and have her on speaker phone so she could let the girl at the front desk know this is not necessary. The girl at the front desk asked my insurance rep “Well how do you find people without their social security number?” and the insurance rep explained different ways to find the insured ( NOT TO MENTION MY INSURANCE CARD HAS AN ID NUMBER ON IT) I then questioned why did I have to fill out a form asking for my credit card information. The girl at the front desk said “We won’t charge your card without your permission “ and as if I’m dumb the girl explained that I pay my co pay now and then a claim would be sent to my insurance company in which I and the office would receive an explanation of benefits and there might be an out of pocket that I would be responsible for. But once again she tried assure me my card wouldn’t be used without my permission. She never really explained why my card information needed to be on file. In the past doctors offices will send you a bill in the mail. I have lived in every time zone (my husband job requires us to move a lot) and never ever have I’ve been asked to provide my credit information or social security number. Why do you need this information on file? When I first walked into the office I gave the girl my ID and insurance card, she was able to tell me my co pay. Which let me know that she had contacted my insurance company and provided them my member number and my insurance company provided her with my co pay. So once again why is my social security number needed. Needless to say I provided them all the wrong information and was denied service. I was not upset or angry I asked for my paperwork back and a receipt showing a refund. I believe there is some shady stuff going on in that office and i’m glad I won’t be a victim of identity theft or have my information misused. I would not recommend this office to my worst enemy. I wish I had read the reviews before going to this office. I believe every bad review that is posted. STAY AWAY. I called other surroundings urgent care and asked if my social security and credit card information is needed and all the three places I called said NO…I explained to them what this office was asking for and ALL THREE SAID THATS CRAZY and assured me that was not their practice. Visit this office at your own.
