What patients are saying...

My family of six (up until recently) has relied happily on Prairie Family Medicine for medical care for the last apx 15 years. We really appreciated the care that Dr. Snyder and his staff provided our family. That has all changed....Unfortunately the practice was bought by another company several months ago. Since then the immense lack of patient care and communication has been horrendous! We use to be able to bring our kids in right away to be seen, now if we're lucky, it is days later. Since the change over, we have resorted to going to urgent care more often than our doctor due to the horrible waiting time for an appointment. My husband and I are finally at our breaking point right now!! Over the last two weeks my husband has been suffering from kidney stones. He is feeling miserable. We originally tried to get him an appointment the first day. They didn't have an opening for two days. So, we ended up taking him to urgent care. It was confirmed through a CT scan and other testing that he indeed has kidney stones (that we got back that day). He was referred to go see a specialist. The urgent care called back that same day, saying our insurance requires him to get a referral from our primary doctor to get an appointment with the specialist. So, we called and we set him an appointment with our doctor to get the referral another day. Durning this long process the office staff's performance has been severely lacking. They have not been organized and have shown very little patient care or understanding. We ended up waiting 8 days just to the get x-ray results back. Which use to be done within a 24 hour period if not in their office. The x-ray results are now irrelevant due to the extremely long wait time. Every time we have contacted them during the last two weeks we were given excuses and told to try contacting them at a later date. We have been asking for a much needed referral to see the specialist to help with my husband with this time sensitive care. The doctor assured my husband at the first visit that he could have the referral at anytime... just to contact them through phone or their text messaging service....and he'd authorize it. Several days later after absolutely no answers, care, or help from the staff, my husband made yet another appointment to be able to speak in person talk to our doctor (Whom I might add is the same doctor we have seen for years... who we still like... he's not the problem) due to us having no confidence in the office staff's communication. The appt went fine with our doctor this morningecen after having to wait yet againto get this second appointment. He said he'd send the referral right over. Several hours later my husband called to check up on the status of the referral due to the specialists office needing the referral to be able to make him an appointment. He was told they were still waiting for the referral. My husband contacted Prairie Family Medicine again to check on the status. Again the secretary had no answers for him, so she transferred him to another desk, no answer either... so, he left yet another voicemail. He then later received a text through their message service saying the referral was sent and to wait yet another 4-5 days for the referral to go through then call and make the appointment. Are you freaking kidding me ??!! He has already been suffering for 15 days with horrendously painful symptoms. The doctor said he needed to get into see the specialist right away! My husband (And I also contacted her today) have contacted the office Manger about the severe lack of patient care and communication. She admitted to my husband their communication is lacking but that was it. She offered no help in rectifying the issues. I am so frustrated and sad that after 15 years we are now having to look for a different doctor's office due to the lack of confidence in the office staff's work performance... even though we still like our doctor. If you are thinking about trying this office... please reconsider. This new company is nothing like the practice Dr. Snyder built.

The front desk behaves as-if they hate being bothered by customers, caring more about collecting billing information than symptoms. Don't believe me, they take photos our children to make sure you're not bringing in an uncovered child. They really don't respect your time forcing you to show up 30 minutes early however you will still be seen 10 to 20 after your scheduled time. After the fifth time, I showed up five minutes before my opponent and was told my opponent was canceled because I wasn't 30 minutes early! Sorry, doc your time isn't more valuable than mine you lost this customer and business owner's business for life.

Horrible. Do not listen to patients. Not concerned with pain level. Should find new younger doctor. Other staff friendly.

Love Dr Sammond, wish he would find a better practice in which to reside. The office staff is rude, bordering on mean and nasty. I have never experienced such gross incompetence combined with downright arrogance which, if you're rude and stupid, is pretty ballsy. The medical staff have all been very nice, more than competent, friendly and knowledgeable, but the front of the house, not so much. I am in fact changing doctors in spite of the fact that this office is in less than a mile from my house because I simply cannot take the front office staff.

Rude, unprofessional, and very disorganized office staff. Don’t waste your time!

Very friendly staff, willing to work with paying down a bill based on what I can afford at the time. The doctors actually take the time to explain and help.

Amazing! They take the time most doctors wouldn't to explain and help with your problem.

Nice facility, nice enough people, but their priorities seem to be a little out of whack. We were charged $360 for most of the therapy sessions. Essentially they are billing for two separate visits: one therapy visit and one office visit. I’m sure that they can technically do this, but it sure doesn’t seem right.
