My wife went to Sharp Rees-Stealy Sorrento Mesa 3 weeks ago to get an appointment from the Obstetrician-Gynecologist for the baby. The appointment date they gave was today April 1st 2021. She asked them twice to make sure if our insurance is in same group and network. The lady at the reception took her insurance ID card, and said "yes" and also called somewhere else to confirm. Then they gave her applications, made a copy of insurance card etc.. Today it was our appointment day and we were there and ready. When we are checking in, another receptionist said that our insurance group is different so we need to call our insurance to change it and we have only 10 minutes as our appoint time was in 10 minutes. She was still saying “if you call them now, you still have 10 minutes to your appointment, so we can get you in”. Thank you!!!!! Sounds like if it takes 15-20 mins on the call, even if we change our group, we won’t be able to get in for our appointment. I was surprised and asked my wife that if she hasn't checked with them before. She was 100% sure, and even saw the lady over there who told her that it is covered. Then we talked to that lady as well, but all she said was "sorry, you may need to pay deposit if you still want to see the doctor".. when I ask the reason,they said our SHARP group is different. But our group name is written on our insurance ID card super clearly... I can't understand how come they oversaw it.. I got off from work, drove 40 minutes one way for that appointment and we waited 3 weeks for that. They suggested to call my insurance to change my group and they said "it only takes 10 minutes", which I did next to them. And the agent said it takes 10 business days as we are already in April and our appointment is also in April. And that 10 days, there is no guarantee, it could even get denied. We send them all the forms and insurance information again a week before our appointment, but obviously no one bothered to check those forms at all.... We had to leave, but I told the staff overthere that, it takes so long and hard to find an appointment, and my wife is at her 9th week as we still couldn't get any doctor visit. God forbid, anything happens,I SWEAR I AM SUING THEM. I told my wife, not to change the group at all.. I don't even want to go there at all anymore.. It is obvious that staff need more training. Blanca (or Bianca) and Karina were the staff and all they were taught is saying 'sorry' and dont even look at your face. Someone should train them that saying "sorry" does not solve the problem. These people should be responsible and take ownership of their mistakes. We should have get that visit today AT NO COST as it was not our mistake. Yet we are the ones who are victim of their mistake! Writing this review with an hope that there would be at least some professional management and they would at least decide to train their staff before giving them a chair and responsibility.
