This is the last time I will be using Smart Clinic. I have been coming here for about six years and even when I moved farther away I still kept going because I usually would have a good experience. I’ve done many in person and telemedicine calls for everything from UTI’s to tonsillitis. However, on Saturday 4/20 I made a telemedicine appointment because I had been suffering from a bad earache for several days. My appointment was scheduled for 10:00am, they called me for vitals at 9:55am, I explained about the earache, my symptoms, and that I wanted to see if it was an ear infection. They told me my appointment would take place closer to 10:15am - not a problem I said. At 11:00am, I was still waiting. I called the office and they told me I was next. I didn’t get connected with the provider until 12:28pm. I didn’t get her name but it was an African American woman with cream rimmed eyeglasses and shoulder length straight hair. I was already upset from waiting so long (had to call out of work because of this) and when she appeared I told her that I was having ear pain and her response was so unbelievably rude it has turned me off from every using SmartClinic ever again. When I said I suspected an ear infection, she basically shrugged and said she can’t do anything about an ear issue if I am not in the clinic. Then she just stared at me in silence like I’m stupid, waiting for me to respond. They couldn’t say this during the vitals intake? I get it, it makes sense, but I’ve had plenty of telemedicine appointments for various conditions I normally would appear in person for. And that isn’t even the main issue, the issue is truthfully how rude she was about it. No apology for the long wait time, no apology for the miscommunication, just a blank stare and a “well what do you want me to do about it” attitude. Then she kept saying my connection was going in and out even though my WiFi signal was at 100%. What a terrible service and what a terrible way to talk to someone, especially a patient looking for relief from painful symptoms. For this experience I have found a new urgent care much closer to my home and I will never return to SmartClinic. Please give this woman a write up and seriously evaluate your telemedicine policies, this was so needlessly frustrating and a complete waste of my time.

The staff I spoke with on the phone were nice and polite. My appt was a telehealth appt for 11 am and I wasn’t attended until 12:40pm. The Dr that came on me telehealth appt was a bit rude and rushed. She was annoyed that she could hear me I couldn’t help that it was the app she we were using. I was on the call with her for less than 5 minutes and she said she’d call in a prescription. Good thing is at least I was in the comfort of my own home waiting.

Woke up with eye pain and severe headache. Was unable to drive so I loved I had the opportunity to schedule a telemed with a provider. The provider that attended me was Grammy Huayhua NP, they were so caring and explained to me the reason to this tension in my head. I felt so overwhelmed but they made me feel better and were so pleasant. Also, the front desk staff was super friendly and kept me updated when the provide would contact me. I love coming to this clinic because it is so convenient for me, especially the telemeds. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.
