WOULD NOT TEST ME FOR COVID - TURNS OUT I WAS COVID POSITIVE. Went to this Urgent Care on July 3, 2020 a little after 7 p.m. Being the Friday before the 4th of July, it was the only place I could find that was open. I explained that I had been having sore throat, headache, cough, body aches, and that I had extensive exposure to folks who were awaiting COVID results and that I wanted to be tested. Was met at the door and asked about my symptoms. Nurse said she spoke with doctor in the back to see if I could be tested. She returned and said that I had "no COVID symptoms," that they would not test me, and inferred that I was a hypochondriac. (She also told me that even *if* they had been willing to test me, which they weren't, that my insurance wouldn't cover it and I would have to pay $450 out of pocket. My friend who was tested there earlier that day and has the same insurance as me only paid $70...) I'm not sure if it was that they didn't want to worry with me because the office was empty and it was almost closing time on a holiday weekend, or if they just didn't take my symptoms seriously. I think it was a little of both. Anyway, I got tested the following Monday at my local health department. Guess what? I was COVID-19 Positive! But instead of getting my results that Sunday like my friend, I didn't find out for sure that I was COVID positive until the following Thursday because this doctor's office absolutely refused to take my symptoms seriously.
