I rarely get sick. I moved into the area in 2017 and became ill and came to Amelia Urgent Care and was registered in, taken in and examined, diagnosis explained, meds were electronically prescribed and at check-out 20-30 minutes. Here it is 2019, My primary Dr. was out ill also and I was directed to Amelia Urgent Care. I had the same symptoms, processed in a short period of time, same quality services, and same Dr. They are PAR EXCELLENT.

Saint Marys Chlamydia Testing

Who should get tested for chlamydia?

According to the CDC, sexually active women under the age of 25, older women with risk factors such as new or multiple sex partners, and men who have sex with men should get tested for chlamydia. It's also recommended for pregnant women, as untreated chlamydia can lead to premature birth.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for chlamydia is crucial as it is often asymptomatic, meaning it doesn't always show symptoms. If left untreated, it can lead to serious health problems including pelvic inflammatory disease in women, which can cause permanent damage to the reproductive system and lead to long-term pelvic pain, infertility, and ectopic pregnancy. In men, chlamydia can cause a condition called nongonococcal urethritis.

Chlamydia testing options in Saint Marys, GA:

While specific data for Saint Marys is not readily available, according to the CDC, Georgia has one of the highest rates of chlamydia in the country. The rate in Camden County, where Saint Marys is located, is also higher than the national average. This suggests that chlamydia is a significant health issue in this area.

Risk factors related to chlamydia in Saint Marys

Risk factors for chlamydia in Saint Marys are similar to those in other parts of the country and include being sexually active, having multiple sex partners, and not using condoms consistently. Other factors may include age, with younger people at higher risk, and socioeconomic factors, such as lack of access to healthcare or low income.

Other STDs in Saint Marys

In addition to chlamydia, other STDs such as gonorrhea, HIV, syphilis, and hepatitis are also prevalent in Saint Marys and the surrounding areas. These diseases often share similar risk factors and can also be tested for at the same locations as chlamydia. It's important to get tested for these diseases as well, as they can also lead to serious health complications if left untreated.
