Urgent care is a great option for addressing health problems that come up in everyday life. The staff is friendly, efficient and caring. I only waited minutes and was seen and and out of there with prescriptions called in.  Urgent care is the most efficient And friendly medical care option that I know of. I would gladly refer friends to them who are in need of a quick and affordable medical diagnosis.

My 1 year old son was up all night screaming so I knew something was wrong. I made an appointment to be seen first thing. Everyone was so kind and understanding that he was under the weather and wouldn’t stop crying. We were in and out in less than 30 minutes and walked next door to pick up his meds.  Highly recommend!

About Gonorrhea Testing

Who should get tested for gonorrhea?

According to the CDC, anyone who is sexually active can contract gonorrhea, but it's most commonly found among individuals aged 15-24. If you're sexually active and in this age range, regular testing is recommended. Additionally, those with multiple sexual partners or a partner with a known STD should also consider testing. It's important to remember that gonorrhea can be asymptomatic, meaning you could have the infection without showing any symptoms. Therefore, if you're sexually active, getting tested is the only sure way to know your status.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for gonorrhea is crucial because, if left untreated, it can lead to serious health problems. For women, untreated gonorrhea can cause pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), which can result in long-term pelvic pain, infertility, and ectopic pregnancy. Men with untreated gonorrhea can experience painful conditions in the tubes attached to the testicles, which could lead to infertility. Moreover, gonorrhea can increase your risk of getting or transmitting HIV. Regular testing allows for early detection and treatment, reducing the risk of these complications.

Prevalence of gonorrhea in Fayetteville

According to the CDC, the rates of gonorrhea have been increasing in many parts of the country, including Arkansas. Fayetteville, located in Washington County, is no exception. While the city's rates are lower than the national average, they are higher than some nearby counties such as Shannon County and Reynolds County. It's important to note that these rates can fluctuate and it's always a good idea to get tested if you're sexually active, regardless of the prevalence in your area.

Risk factors related to gonorrhea in Fayetteville

Risk factors for gonorrhea in Fayetteville are similar to those in other parts of the country. These include being sexually active, having multiple sexual partners, having a partner with a known STD, and being between the ages of 15-24.
