I showed up at the Texas Med Clinic tonight off of 410 and 151. My symptoms were:
Sore throat, fatigue, nauseated, had chills, and had had dizziness during the day. My purpose and i think anyone's purpose to show up to an urgent care is to be tested to see what's wrong with them. I told the young lady who took my temperature and my blood pressure, i might not have a fever, but my eyes were burning like I was running a fever. Most of all my entire body wasn't/isn't feeling well. My blood pressure was up so that should have told the doctor that doing a flu or strep test might be a good idea. Instead she asks me a few questions. Questions i had already answered when i checked in. Then she checks my throat, confirms my throat is red and swollen. She then listens to my lungs. Then tells me she's going to call in some medications. I had no clue as to what i had but a red swollen throat. She told me since Pharmacy was closed, just to gargle with warm salt water meanwhile!! I walked up to the front desk and asked receptionist if she was going to give me a piece of paper with diagnosis. She told me they don't give out a sheet like that and didn't the doctor tell me what i had. I told her, no. All i understood is i had a sore throat and she's calling in some medication.
The doctor has an accent so i didn't understand what she said i had. Basically what i understood, i have a throat infection. But like i told her, but my body doesn't feel well at all. I walked in to that Texas Med Clinic feeling awful and walked out feeling angry, frustrated and awful due to my sickness!!
Doctor didn't even take the time to do a flu test because I wasn't running a fever? WTH?! I had took some Advils earlier so maybe that's why i wasn't running a fever. Either way, I doubt you have to run a fever to have the flu. Or doctor could have tested me for strep throat...but not even that did she do!
Knowing that the pharmacy was closed, no antibiotic shot to help relieve my pain a bit faster? As far as I'm concerned, I got NO MEDICAL ATTENTION TONIGHT. AND I don't feel I was seen by a concerned or compassionate physician. Or maybe she wasn't even a doctor...
