I had meant to leave a review the last time I had visited Unity Point Walk In. My stomach had been hurting really bad right around the same time Covid was really making its rounds. Instead of going to my family physician I made an appointment at the walk in. I was seen by Kelly, she diagnosed that I probably had appendicitis and told me to go the emergency room. Normally I would of brushed it off lucky enough I listened to her because it had ruptured. Thanks again Kelly and all the staff you are appreciated!

Been there for many blood draws and Jenny was the most efficient. One stab and the blood was there. I am a recovering Covid patient and since last November, have had my fingers pricked and veins punctured way too many times. Some times by 3 different nurses and with many attempts. Jenny is sure of herself and makes me very happy.

This clinic is rated highly in reviews for their friendly staff

Friendly Staff

Referred to Amana Care by a friend yesterday. I went this morning and LOVED everything about it. This will be my new 'To Go' place. From signing in at the front desk until you walk out, the service is EXCELLENT! Very friendly staff who must enjoy their job because they are very warm, welcoming, and greet you with a smile. They get you in and out very fast with good quality care. Well worth the drive from Bettendorf.

Short Wait Time

Short wait time. Kind staff. Would have preferred to have a "real" doctor though. The person who took care of me wouldn't believe that I had Bronchitis. She said I had a head cold even though i was coughing up green phlemn from my Lungs. She Didn't believe me! I get bronchitis at least once or twice a year for the past 30+ years. You'd think I know my own body. This was the first time a Doctor did not make my diagnosis. They need to go back to only DOCTORS so a proper diagnosis can be made.

I have been going here for a long time. They now have 2 different chiropractors. Dr Blackwood and Dr A and both are very good. They are like a well oiled machine. They all are very personable and very intelligent. I don't think I've been to another office as this is and feel like I'm being treated the same way. I couldn't be happier. We are always treated with kindness and repect.

About Tetanus Shots

A tetanus shot is used to prevent tetanus, also known as lockjaw. Tetanus is a bacterial infection that can lead to painful muscle spasms, and oftentimes, death. Adults in the US have to be vaccinated against tetanus because there's currently no cure for it and roughly 10 to 20 percent of victims die from tetanus. Symptoms of tetanus come from a toxin produced by tetanus bacteria and usually begin appearing about a week after the infection occurs. The most common symptom is muscle stiffness that begins in the jaw and spreads to the neck, arms, legs, or abdomen, but other symptoms include trouble swallowing, headache, fever and sweating, irritability and restlessness, high blood pressure, palpitations, and muscle spasms in the face.

It's important to get treated for tetanus as soon as you know you're infected because if it's not treated quickly enough, you can die from suffocation. Tetanus shots are given in the shoulder muscle. If you've never had a tetanus shot before, you might be given a three-dose primary series. You'll get the first dose as a three-in-one combination called Tdap that prevents tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), and diphtheria (Td). The other two doses will usually be a dual vaccine and you'll receive them over a 7 to 12 month period. You should receive a tetanus vaccine between 2 months and 6 years old, as well as a teenager and an adult. Pregnant women might need a tetanus shot during the third trimester of pregnancy.
