I was able to choose a Quest lab location and schedule an appointment. Check in was easy, and I only needed to provide my name and DOB. They were able to locate my order in their system. They were already aware that my labs were paid for prior to the appointment. I had my labs done on a Wednesday, and I received my results by Saturday. Great experience.

I’ve visited this urgent care ever since I’ve moved back to the RGV. The first visit was fine and I enjoyed going here. Today I came back because I got worse within the prior time frame of visiting the urgent care. This time a man by the name of Mark charged me and was VERY unprofessional in the manner. It’s a shame that this urgent care hires people like this to help aid those that are sick and need assistance. He was very rude. I don’t recommend him at all to anyone. He couldn’t answer a simple question without a disrespectful comment and tone of voice. Horrible customer service on HIS part. Will refuse him if I choose to go back.

Alton Chlamydia Testing

Who should get tested for chlamydia?

According to the CDC, anyone who is sexually active can get chlamydia, but the infection is more common in some groups. Young women (age 25 and under), men who have sex with men, and individuals with multiple sexual partners or those who don't consistently use condoms are at a higher risk. In Alton, TX, and surrounding areas, it's recommended that these high-risk groups get tested regularly for chlamydia and other STDs/STIs.

Importance of getting tested

Chlamydia is often called a 'silent' infection because most people who have it don't show symptoms, making it easy to pass on unknowingly. If left untreated, chlamydia can cause serious health problems, including infertility in women. Regular testing is crucial to detect the infection early and start treatment. It's also key in preventing the spread of the disease to others.

Chlamydia testing options in Alton, TX:

Urgent care and walk-in clinics

Urgent care and walk-in clinics offer a convenient option for chlamydia testing. These facilities often have extended hours and can provide same-day or next-day appointments. A notable option in the area is Urgent Care4U in McAllen, TX, which has a high rating and can be booked through Solv's website or mobile app.

Primary care providers

Primary care providers are another option for chlamydia testing. Regular check-ups with a primary care provider usually include STD/STI testing, and these professionals can provide ongoing care and advice.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits for chlamydia are another option, providing privacy and convenience. These kits can be ordered online, used at home, and sent back to a lab for results.

Prevalence of chlamydia in Alton

While specific data for Alton, TX, is not readily available, Hidalgo County, where Alton is located, has seen a steady increase in chlamydia cases over the years, according to the CDC. This trend is similar to what is seen in nearby counties and across the state of Texas. Regular testing and awareness are key to managing this ongoing issue.

Risk factors related to chlamydia in Alton

Risk factors for chlamydia in Alton are similar to those in other areas. These include being sexually active, having multiple sexual partners, inconsistent condom use, and being young (under 25). It's important for those in these risk groups to get tested regularly.

Other STDs in Alton

In addition to chlamydia, other STDs such as gonorrhea, HIV, syphilis, and hepatitis are also of concern in Alton and surrounding areas. Regular testing for all STDs/STIs is recommended for those who are sexually active, especially those in high-risk groups.
