About
About OhioHealth Corporation
OhioHealth Corporation is a nonprofit, faith-based health system headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, operating as a health ministry of the West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church. Its origins trace to 1891 with the founding of the Protestant Hospital Association in Columbus, the city fourth hospital and the first unaffiliated with the Catholic Church. The institution became White Cross Hospital in 1922, aligned with the Ohio Methodist Episcopal Conference. After a legal settlement with a managed care company, U.S. Health Corporation rebranded as OhioHealth in 1997. The system today encompasses more than 200 outpatient care sites and a workforce of approximately 35,000 across 50 counties in central, north central, and southeast Ohio.
