Getting Tested for STDs in Waverly, IA

Who should get tested for STDs?

Anyone who is sexually active should consider getting tested for sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). This is especially important for those who have multiple sexual partners, are under the age of 25, or are men who have sex with men. Pregnant women should also get tested as STDs can have serious health implications for both the mother and baby. According to the CDC, early detection and treatment can prevent many of the harmful effects of STDs.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is crucial for maintaining good sexual health. Many STDs do not show symptoms, so it's possible to have an infection and not know it. Untreated STDs can lead to serious health complications, including infertility, cancer, and increased susceptibility to HIV. Regular testing allows for early detection and treatment, reducing the risk of these complications.
