I was able to choose a Quest lab location and schedule an appointment. Check in was easy, and I only needed to provide my name and DOB. They were able to locate my order in their system. They were already aware that my labs were paid for prior to the appointment. I had my labs done on a Wednesday, and I received my results by Saturday. Great experience.

A great experience for something I had a lot of anxiety about. Had no wait time or issues at the testing center/lab. Had blood drawn at 3pm and had results by email at 9am the next morning.

I came in one day without an appoint and waited two hours as a walk-in before I had to leave without being tested. I made an appointment through Quest Lab Testing for the next day, showed up on time, got tested easily and was on my way in 15-20 minutes. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Lab Tests FAQs

  • Where should I get a lab test in Chico?

Doctors commonly order lab tests and can refer you to one or more reputable lab test centers in your area. Lab tests can be performed in Chico urgent care centers, hospitals, and walk-in clinics that specialize in lab testing. Your healthcare practitioner can supply you with a list of lab test providers, or you can use Solv to see what's available in your area.

  • How much do lab tests cost?

The cost of a lab test is determined by several factors, including the type of test, your location, whether you have insurance, and the fees charged by the lab test provider. Many health insurance providers will cover the cost of lab testing in part or in full. Those who do not have insurance, on the other hand, will almost certainly face higher costs. Contact lab test providers directly to confirm the cost of your lab test based on your health insurance benefits. • Does insurance cover lab testing?

The easiest way to find out if your health plan covers lab testing is to contact your insurance carrier directly or ask the lab test provider to check your insurance benefits and verify price. Many health insurance plans will cover lab tests that your doctor determines are medically necessary for your illness. • How long does it take to get lab test results in Chico?

Lab test results may be available in minutes, hours, days, or weeks, depending on the type of test performed, lab staff productivity, and your doctor's availability. Some lab test providers let you see your results as soon as they're available online, while others need you to wait for your doctor's answer. Your doctor or the lab provider can give you a more accurate estimate of when your lab test results will arrive.

  • What is a routine lab test?

A basic lab test may evaluate your red and white blood cell counts to discover if you have anemia, a blood infection, or blood cancer. It may also test fat levels in your blood to determine your risk of heart disease and examine the health of your organs, such as your heart, kidneys, and liver. Your healthcare provider will be able to explain what a typical lab test entails.

  • What STDs can be detected by a blood test?

A blood test can identify STDs such as syphilis, HIV, hepatitis C, and herpes. Your doctor may order that blood be collected and submitted to a lab, or that you undergo STD testing at a lab test provider. STD test results might arrive in minutes, days, or weeks, depending on the lab test company you work with.

  • Do I need to see a doctor before getting a lab test?

Before performing specific tests, some lab test providers require a doctor's referral, while others do not. The benefit of seeing a doctor before getting a lab test is that you can assess whether or not you need one based on your symptoms and a physical examination. A doctor can also help you decide which tests are necessary.

  • How can I book a lab test on Solv?

On our home page, please specify the type of lab service you desire, as well as your location and state. Solv will give you with a list of lab test providers in your area, as well as their contact information, so you can make an appointment right immediately.

  • How long does getting a lab test take?

The majority of lab tests are completed in a matter of minutes, but certain providers may have extensive wait times that require you to spend up to an hour in the lab. To limit the amount of time you spend waiting for your lab test, schedule an appointment with Solv ahead of time.

  • Should I try at-home lab testing?

Privacy, convenience, and accuracy are all advantages of at-home lab testing. Some at-home lab testing services, however, may not be covered by your health insurance plan. Some healthcare practitioners may seek additional lab tests to corroborate their diagnosis of specific health concerns. Consult your doctor to see if at-home lab testing is appropriate for you, given your unique health situation.Privacy, convenience, and accuracy are all advantages of at-home lab testing. Staff was awesome, wait times were extended because of influx of covid testing

- Verified patient on 10/28

Everyone was great and friendly. The wait was way to long for a covid test. They should go back to appts. I was there since 8:35am on Saturday morning. I waited 35min to get through on the phone to get registered. They informed me the wait was going to be about 2 hrs. Which I had no choice and wait. finally ready for my boys to be seen at 11:35am. I found out that the wait was extra long because some patients have to see a provider. We did get results in less than 30min. Just a very long wait. If they would go back to just doing covid tests I would return.

I needed to get Covid tested because I came in contact with someone that tested positive. I feel that this medical place isn’t organized. My appointment was at 1pm, I arrived at 12:30 and it took a long time with the process. They explained what needed to get done but didn’t start the process right away. They gave me the forms 40 minutes after my arrival. They took my medical cards one hour after my arrival, they took my payment, one hour and 10 minutes after my arrival. Teleported with a doctor one hour and 20 minutes after my arrival, and finally got the test done, one hour and 30 minutes after my arrival. I feel it was a lot of waiting around. The girls were friendly but all the walking in and out and having me wait in my car was torturous to see. I don’t understand why forms couldn’t be ready and administered, collect all the necessary documentation and payment all at once and be ready with the next and next step. Please take these steps into consideration to help the public and their location run smoothly. Thank you.

The only draw back was wait times due to the high number of tests requested. Very pleasant and professional staff, will certainly use again.

My daughter had croup but wasn’t improving so I made an appt at 11:30. I arrived at 11:15 and eventually was told I needed to have her COVID tested. I was back to the waiting room by 12. I thought I’d be in a room quickly since my appt was 30 min prior but it was obvious I wasn’t going to be seen soon. I told them I would take an appt at 2. I arrived by 1:45 and was in a room by 2:05. I didn’t the see the dr until 2:45. I was frustrated because I had appts and the provider explained they run an urgent care. She was condescending. I’ve been coming there since it opened. I have 4 kids one seen on Wednesday. I understand what an urgent care is but I also understand appts and customer service. I eft the first time because it was taking far longer with an appt and I needed to have my son at an event but the right thing would’ve been to fast track me the second time and for the provider to not treat me the way she did. So disappointed. I love the staff but they should’ve tried to get me in faster and when they didn’t just say sorry not have some provider explain to me how an urgent care works. Does she know what an appt is?

I found getting the test was the easy part. I first drove to the office in Carmel Valley thinking I could walk in & get tested. Then I saw the sign on the to not even come if you were wanting a test and to the posted phone number. I called multiple times and it continually went to voice mail so I peeked in the window and saw a woman at the desk who was not answering the phone. I knocked on the window & held up my phone indicating that I needed to get through. Then I called again and she picked up. I set up an appointment for the next morning but was not told that it was an appointment for a video consult so I was ready to head out the next morning but then saw there were forms to be completed. I did the best I could but found the website a bit difficult to navigate. Did the video consult which was great, quick & to the point & all was good after that. I would like to add that aside the first I went to the office and it kept going to voicemail it never happened again.

Just a long wait. But thankful got tested before flight with quick results.

I received a Covid test in a timely manner amd the results super fast. No complaints and will likely be back for same. Perhaps would be nice if those of us w appts for Covid tests could check in online so as to avoid standing in line (30 minutes today).

This was my first Covid test and I didn’t know what to expect. There was a bit of confusion on where you are supposed to go at the facility, but it was resolved quickly. There was a bit of a wait, as my appointment was for 10:35 but I was not called until 11:20. The procedure itself was quick and painless, the technician was very friendly. Overall a pleasant experience.

I was there for a routine check up. Dr. Riffel was went through my blood work and explained the result on each test. He was very thorough and helpful with suggestions.

I came in at 2:30pm on Friday and no one was in the waiting room so I got seen as soon as I filled out the iPad, 4 paperwork, and gave my ID and insurance card to the receptionist. The girl who is helping me (nurse) or medical assistant is so sweet. I'm so happy I came here in long beach instead of going back to Venice beach. I listened to my heart. This place is only down the st from my house. My medical covers everything. It's clean too. Very clean. Smells good. I'm being asked to take a pee test so I'm drinking water so I can test and then I can see what's going on then see the doctor. It's so much better to go to urgent care then your general physician. Anyways! 5 stars. Omg the doctor was so kind and nice! All women are here. Love it. She was sweet. She spoke to me with kindness like she knew me and I spoke to her kind. I'm going to make this my place to go.

My first experience was terrible. I followed instructions and waited in my car. Checked in with staff upon my arrival at 3:15pm. I was forgotten waited over an hour. Then I got a call asking if I got my covid test and they expressed that the person who does testing bad just left and if not could I return between 5:30-8:40pm. I really needed my PCR test for a show. So I decided to go eat and return after 5:30pm but called first to make sure someone would take me. A young lady by the name April answered the phone I explained my experience and I was returning for my test but had to double check. She sprung into action and my experience was amazing she walked me through every step and hadbme drive to her location and text them soon as I arrived she did mine and my daughters PCR covid test and had a little to no wait time. She truly is an example of patient care. She made me forget I was mad and had lost so much time during the day that I even missed a important meeting. But April took care of us and we got our tests some so all was forgiven. Grateful, Selene Falcon

I brought my grandson for covid screening. The online checkin took forever. We waited about 3 hrs out in hot car to go in for screening. Finally had screening done, someone came back to room barely 5 min later and said test was negative . Went to checkout desk for paperwork. The wait was going to be another 15 to 20 min so we left. Received a call from clinic about 10 min later while we were still in Chico and were told the test was positive! We were obviously told someone else's results initially. Then went back to clinic to get results paperwork.

Quick and easy Covid test. Much easier than I expected!

- Verified patient on 3/8

The professionalism and quality of the care met to my standard. Although, we only went for a rapid covid test, the doctor still asked about my daughters health and was concerned when I told him that she’s had a lingery cough for more than a month. We have been to Enloe Prompt care and they never seem to concerned like they were here. I really appreciated this. He gave me advice and prescribed cough medicine to help her at night. This is something I have been wanting for a long time and he heard my concerns. I look forward to bringing my medical concerns/business here for any future. We are a family of 4 and have two private insurances. I like how everyone was friendly to me and my children. The wait is awful, but this is what we experience anywhere with medical, so it seems to be the new “normal”.

- Verified patient on 10/10

The girl that checked us in what is new with the job and I had to sit for over two hours waiting to get a test that I was scheduled for at a specific time. I was there on time, why should it take two hours. Manager should be aware of the value of your customers time.

I try to get a COVID test today, I have downloaded the app and ask me to check in once I arrived. My appointment is 12:20pm and I checked in at 12:00pm, and app told me no one in front of me, but no one calls me in as well, I thought they will text me when is my turn. So I wait in my car. Until the time, still no text messages or nothing, so I walked in. And the rep seems like don’t even know I have an appointment today, and keep asking me all different questions, like are you Anna, I am like no, I am xx. And she is asking r you get vaccines today, I said no, I am here for testing. And she keep asking all other questions on the form which I already filled out on the web. I just wondering the app not really communicating to the clinic, so the rep keep asking me all the same questions again. The second thing is once I sit in the little office, the nurse instead measuring my height and weight, she asking me what is my height and weight to fill out the form. So I provided the answer. She tried to measure my blood pressure, and the number not coming out, and at the end she gave up, and didn’t have my blood pressure. The last thing is when I sit in the little office to wait for my result since I order the rapid test. I saw the sink is dirty with all the water spot on the surface. The one time use ear measurements not full and no one filling up. And the doctor walked in at the end to do a summarize, and her white coat is actually very dirty with black and yellow color around the pockets areas. She probably wear it for a while. But the test results turn out with in 15min, and I am negative. This is what I want to know.

I needed a rapid COVID test, the process from start to finish was a breeze. All of the staff were super friendly!

- Verified patient on 2/24

Other than the miscommunication between the front desk and physician re: covid testing, and where/when results are posted it was very clean and efficient. I was told by front desk that rapid testing opens at 9am but after MA took my saliva test and then, when I was seen by the physician, I was then told she COULD do the Swab test (after the saliva test had been done) which was all good (except the extra fee for the THAT test) I did the test, got results and went on my way after my hour and 45 min visit. That’s not bad considering within hours there will be a full waiting room. I was told by physician to check a website for saliva test results, but then at check out the front desk said they’d call me. I asked for portal info which she gave me while assuring me I’d be phoned by physician. The physician on the other hand strongly assured me my results would be posted. I don’t mind either way, as long as I can GET the results. Both physician and front desk MA were very friendly even at 4:45 AM when I checked in, until 6:30 am when I was finished. I walked out with Swab test results, and a prescription so I’m very satisfied. I know they’re only 2 people and are in a very trying field, I salute them.

The young lady that did my testing was kind, funny, personable and just overall a pleasure to deal with. I always have pretty good experiences at your facility but this was the best to date.

Chico Lab Tests

Lab tests take samples of your blood, urine, saliva, and other bodily secretions, which are then analyzed in a lab to help doctors diagnose and treat certain illnesses. Lab tests can be used to diagnose an illness, detect changes in an existing condition, and monitor how your body responds to a therapy, among other things. They can also be used to monitor the progression of a disease or a set of diseases.

If your doctor is unable to make a definitive diagnosis of your disease, or if you are having a variety of symptoms that could indicate a variety of disorders, he or she may request a lab test. Some lab tests require no preparation at all, while others may require you to fast for eight to twelve hours before the test in order to avoid erroneous results from certain meals and beverages. Your healthcare provider may advise you to cease smoking, exercising, and taking certain medications and nutritional supplements for many hours or days before your blood test.

Before your lab test, ask your doctor for precise instructions to follow to minimize erroneous results and multiple trips to the lab for additional testing. A lab worker may use a needle to draw blood from your arm or prick your finger to collect a small sample of blood during a blood test. During a urine test, your physician will ask you to go to the restroom and urinate in a sterile cup, then set your sample on a shelf where a lab technician can pick it up and process it. The personnel at the lab testing facility will demonstrate how to do each type of test.
