Highly Rated

Springfield Urgent Care, Saline - 7025 E Michigan Ave
I just walk in. It was nice and clean. They were very helpful. I am sure glad that the Solvhealth move there . We didn’t have an urgent care there for awhile and I know a lot of people miss it. I know I sure did. Easy in and easy out. It was a pleasant place and everyone there is so nice and willing to help you with anything.   I got excellent care there.  I highly recommend  you try it once you will love it.

About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

According to the CDC, anyone who has been exposed to blood or body fluids of an infected person should get tested for hepatitis. This includes people who have shared needles or other drug paraphernalia, those who have had unprotected sex with an infected person, and healthcare workers who have been accidentally pricked with a needle. Additionally, people born between 1945 and 1965, also known as the baby boomer generation, should get tested as they are five times more likely to have hepatitis C.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for hepatitis is crucial because many people who have the disease do not show symptoms until the liver damage is severe. Early detection can prevent serious health complications such as liver cirrhosis and liver cancer. According to the CDC, hepatitis C is the leading cause of liver transplants in the United States.

Risk factors related to hepatitis in Sylvania

Risk factors for hepatitis in Sylvania include injection drug use, unprotected sex, and exposure to infected blood or body fluids. The rise in opioid use in Lucas County has contributed to the increase in hepatitis cases, as shared needles are a common transmission route.

Other STDs in Sylvania

In addition to hepatitis, Sylvania has seen an increase in other STDs such as gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, and syphilis. The rates of these STDs are higher in Sylvania compared to nearby cities like Lambertville and Holland but lower than Toledo. It's important to note that testing for one STD does not mean you are tested for all, so it's crucial to discuss your risk factors and testing options with a healthcare provider.
