I brought my little boy in he had a Sore throat, headache, And low grade fever. When the Doctor come in to check him, she looked at his ears, Said there's some wax in there.I can't see, So when you go home , put some peroxide in it To loosen the wax up. She did not test him The flu, She did test him for strep. Strep was negative, So she sent us on our way. My little boy was so sick that night 102 fever. I got up and took him to Another walk in clinic On sunday. They tested him for strep and Influenza. Test came back positive for influenza. As far as i'm concerned your doctor Did not Diagnose him correctly. And to be honest, her bedside manner. Wasn't very pleasant.

Had an appointment at 4:30 Didn’t get in a room until 5:30 for the Doctor to come in briefly to tell us our sons throat was red , didn’t diagnose anything.  Frustrating that we were told to be there 15 minutes early for our appointment and then take that long to be seen like our time doesn’t matter. There was one other patient in there at the time.

About Iron Testing

Iron Testing is a diagnostic test that measures the levels of iron in the blood. Iron is an essential mineral required for the production of hemoglobin, a protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen throughout the body. Testing for iron levels helps assess iron deficiency or iron overload, both of which can have significant health implications.

Who Should Get Tested

Residents of Clemons, Iowa, with symptoms such as fatigue, weakness, pale skin, dizziness, and shortness of breath may benefit from Iron Testing. Individuals with certain risk factors, such as chronic blood loss, poor dietary iron intake, pregnancy, or certain medical conditions, may also require testing.

Test Methods for Iron

Iron Testing typically involves measuring various components in the blood, including:

  1. Serum Iron: This measures the amount of iron circulating in the blood.
  2. Transferrin and Total Iron-Binding Capacity (TIBC): These tests assess the body's capacity to bind and transport iron.
  3. Ferritin: This test measures ferritin, a protein that stores iron in cells and reflects iron levels in the body.

Interpreting the Results

The interpretation of Iron Testing results involves analyzing the levels of iron, transferrin, TIBC, and ferritin. Abnormalities in these values may indicate iron deficiency anemia or iron overload conditions.

Importance of Iron Testing

Iron Testing is important for:

  • Diagnosing iron deficiency anemia
  • Evaluating iron metabolism and storage in the body
  • Assessing the response to iron supplementation or treatment

Following the Test

After Iron Testing, healthcare providers discuss the results with individuals and recommend appropriate interventions based on the test findings. Treatment options may include iron supplementation, dietary changes, and addressing the underlying cause of iron imbalance.
