The price charged at an urgent care, whether in Helena-West Helena or elsewhere, will be based on the location, and there are no actual standard costs between the clinics. Assuming you are paying with cash, you might come across an urgent clinic that charges you $50 while another situated some mile away charges you $100 for the same services. The standard cost in urgent care where insurance cover is not involved ranges from $100 to $125. This price is generally the standard price of a visit before extra services. There are a couple of additional care services that could make your appointment to an urgent care costly including x-rays and lab tests, medications and injections (such as immunization), casting broken bones, as well as stitches and splints. If you have a viable insurance plan in place, the standard pay will be between $20 – 50 depending on your insurance coverage and whether you are in contact with the provider.

  • What is urgent care?

Urgent care are available to assist patients that are looking for immediate, convenient medical care. In that manner, they are similar to an emergency room. The difference, however, is that ERs are meant to treat major, life-threatening injuries and illnesses while urgent care centers manage life’s minor bruises and bumps. In simple terms, an urgent care is seen as a walk-in health center that focuses in offering non-emergent health care conditions, including the treatment of the typical illnesses and injuries such as fractures and sprains, cuts and burns, scrapes, stings and bites, flu and cold symptoms, nausea and vomiting, abdominal pain, and much more. Most urgent care facilities offer both diagnostic and preventive care such as well visits, immunizations, STD testing and annual physicals. For regular visits and check-ups on these clinics, you should expect to pay between $20 and $100. The good thing is that most urgent care clinics will accept major PPOs and insurance cover, Medicare, as well as self-pay in the form of credit cards or cash. Urgent care clinics are located in most parts of the country in various regions to offset emergency room visits and provide a gap in healthcare services. They take patients during all hours of operations, which offer a significant convenience to most people who have and continue to undergo the need for sudden and immediate medical attention.

Recent Urgent Care Reviews (20)

I’ve been to numerous different Urgent Care facilities in different cities in Central Arkansas and this is by far the best in all categories! Beginning in the waiting room, it is more like an upscale doctor’s office than an after hours medical facility. My daughter and I were in and out in less than half an hour with a scheduled appointment. The doctor actually came in to speak to us and the past 3 times I’ve been to Urgent Care, not only did I have to wait over 2 hours, I never even saw nor spoke to the DR. I will drive out of my way the 35 min drive to this location if I need to go to an Urgent Care, every single time. The others, are sub-par at best.

I couldn’t get in to see my personal Doctor since they were booked up, and this was the third Urgent Care Clinic I tried to get into. Thankfully, this Washington Regional facility was open later and had availability, because we were leaving on a Thanksgiving trip the next morning. The staff was very nice and helpful. Considering the time of day and that they had been busy all day, it could have definitely been different, as experienced at one of the other places I had been to! Thank you to the physician I saw (Christy) who was friendly, informative, and answered all my questions. Ultimately, I was able to be seen, and get the meds I needed to get started on and take our trip. Thank you!!

I just left this urgent care after being sick for a good week. The staff took Exceptional care of me. But my LPN Whitney was absolutely the most amazing person and nurse I’ve ever encountered. She made sure I was comfortable and real just made me feel like she cared. Everyone knows with this COVID stuff going on going to hospital or urgent Care your kinda just ran thru like cattle at an auction. But not here so if you don’t feel well or need a COVID test go let Whitney LPNand michelle NP take care of you

I came in with a sore throat and a lose of voice. Assuming I had COVID or strep I decided to go to Baptist Health Urgent Care on Zero Street, Fort Smith AR. The nurse who took my blood pressure and swabbed for test was very nice. Sadly I didn’t get to catch her name. Though the nurse practitioner Scott was amazing during my appointment. He was very friendly, caring and professional. Unfortunately I was confirmed positive with COVID and there isn’t much you can do with a viral infection. He was nice enough to prescribe me some medication to help with my aching sore throat. The only downsides to my visit today was the wait time but when you have so many people walking in, you’re expected to wait longer. Also, the app seems to be glitched out, after I checked in I could see the wait list and what position I’m in. The app decides to not give me the link to check on it after an hour or so past. All in all, I had a wonderful experience. A reminder to all the health workers that you’re doing an amazing job!

I set an appointment for 3pm. Got brought to the room at 3:30. Didn’t get seen until 4:20. They stated they had a “procedure” but no one came to inform me that it might be a longer wait. I had twin 3 year olds in there losing patience. The whole reason I made an appt and filled out the paperwork ahead of time was because I had children. Had they said something to me, I would’ve remained calm or left to go to another location. Next time, I will go to another urgent care.

I am so glad we have this facility in our town. They will always see you and take care of your issue. Since Covid came to town a lot of family doctors won’t see you if you are sick which is the reason most of us go to the doctor in the first place. So Washington Regional Urgent Care is a godsend! Everyone is so friendly and professional and make you feel at ease as soon as you walk in. Check in on my phone was very convenient too! The provider was very friendly and made you feel at ease. The wait time was a little longer than I had thought it would be but due to Covid it was understandable.

The nurse practitioner that I saw was very nice, and very knowledgeable in regard to my respiratory infection for which I was being seen. I am very pleased with her treatments that she provided, and I would certainly see her again in the future. The wait time wasn’t terrible, but it could’ve been a little faster in order to help ease my symptoms. Overall, the Nurse Practitioner and staff, and the facility, are on my definitely would recommend list, to anyone else that needs urgent care.

My ONLY go to for urgent care! We have about 4 in our small town of Maumelle, and I would NEVER go anywhere else!!! Your facility is ALWAYS clean, fresh smelling, everyone is friendly and very accommodating. I’m so thankful we have Healthcare Express!! It’s such a great addition to our city!! The others are NOT!! So, thank YOU for providing us with a quality urgent care facility that takes an interest in their patients, and is friendly to the patient as well as the family! I HIGHLY recommend anyone go to Healthcare Express for any medical need that is appropriate for urgent care! Thanks again!!

The whole experience was amazing. I dread doctor’s visits - between the cost and typical subpar care, I go as a last resort. Today wasn’t any different; I was not looking forward to the visit. However, everything from start to finish was great. I scheduled the appointment online. The front desk manager, Robbi, was phenomenal. Check-in was a breeze. The wait wasn’t long at all. They may have been MAYBE 10-15 mins off from my appointment time. In their defense, I was advised to show up 10 mins early, but showed up right on time. The NP, Scott (Richard) Savage was awesome! He explained everything clearly and made me feel at ease. I’m sure I was rambling but he listened and addressed all of my concerns. Oh! Can’t forget the lady that took my nose swab for the COVID test - I can’t remember her name. But, she was great as well! Overall great experience. I won’t visit any other Urgent Care clinic!

Jennifer-who gave me the exam-was very friendly, very conscientious, and professional. Counted my lucky day bc she made the whole experience great! Christy - front desk - greeted me with a friendly smile! Something that now days you dont see. Her person-friendly style made me feel welcomed! The practitioner (cant remember her name) was also great at making you feel at ease. She made our session feel at ease and welcoming! Thank you for making my experience with Sherwood Urgent Care a very pleasant one! Will definitely highly recommend!

Robbi, front desk, checked me in and I had a minimum wait time before being called back. Randi, triaged me and since I had bee here before I was able to verify information for her which lessened my time as well. Mary the NP was so wonderful, she addressed my ongoing headaches which make me miserable 5/7 days a week. She was so sweet and gentle when examining my neck and careful not to cause me anymore pain. I always have such a positive experience at Baptist Health Urgent Care. No matter who I see I feel that they have such a great team all around.

I feel like we got into the back in a decent amount of time. Scheduled appointment was *** and we went back around ***ish. The nurse/tech in triage was a little aggressive and never made eye contact. But did his job. I will say, I did not appreciate him trying to rip off the blood pressure cuff off my 3 year olds arm and a shocking my child. The APN was very to the point. I understand it’s an urgent care but it was definitely a different experience then the pediatricians office.

I will start off by saying I have used this urgent care a few times and have been extremely happy with the care we have received. However, this one is a different story. I made an appointment due to high fevers, body aches, and chest discomfort of 5 days. The sweet LPN who took care of me listened to my concerns. She decided to swab me for the flu. As she was taking my swab to get tested the APN opened the door to our room. She was speaking to the LPN she said “did you get a PCR on her, this is probably COVID, not the flu”. I had explained to the APN that I had just tested negative for COVID two days ago, that I really did not think that’s what this was. She got a rapid COVID test which was negative. She then said she would send it off for PCR and that it would probably be positive and that’s what we were dealing with. I asked her for a chest X-ray. She stated “your lungs sound fine”. She offered to draw blood work, I agreed. She sent us on our way telling us it was most likely COVID and that we would get the results tomorrow. My husband left from the urgent care and brought me to the ED where I am admitted for double pneumonia and having a sepsis work up. I’m glad I advocated for myself and didn’t settle for a COVID diagnosis. If I would of waited too much longer I’m scared about how much worse it would of gotten. I think it’s always wise to listen to your patients and not jump to one conclusion so fast ( and yes I have been fully vaccinated for COVID as well). But I am thankful for the sweet LPN who seemed as she was concerned!

The Cabot location was WONDERFUL! I was stipulated to a time limit and they ensured I completed my procedure by the given time. I had called the Jacksonville location, and the woman I spoke to was very very curt, and mildly rude when she told me that they weren’t testing any more for the day and I could call back tomorrow. This was trouble some because I had already told her I had to report for ASBN mandated urinalysis on a strict time limit. The Cabot location rescued me and the front desk secretary Sylvia actually saved me from being late, she provided a phone number to me that I was unable to locate anywhere. Cabot Urgent Care IS ON POINT!!!

If I can’t get in to see my family doctor, I will only go to this urgent care facility! The staff are always awesome, the clinic is always clean and even if they are busy, I am never been made to feel like a nuisance no matter why I’m there. I appreciate our local hospital and the Emergency department but it should be reserved for those who need more care in my opinion so I’m very grateful that the Urgent Care is here for me and my family!

Love Urgent Care. Had to go there today. My ear has been really hurting the last 3 days. Well I've got an ear infection and excessive fluids. Called in some Meds. For me and I was out. Probably wasn't there 30 minutes. And they even remembered me from my 2 previous appts..about a month or so. Everyone there was very caring, polite and professional. I recommend Urgent Care in Beebe to everyone. Very respectful as well You don't get that near enough these days. The I think is called an APRN (sorry if I'm wrong) Her Last Name was Self. She's AWESOME.

We had never been to this Urgent Care before. My daughter twisted her ankle and we needed an x-ray. You were the only place whose x-ray staff had not gone home for the evening. I called ahead to verify we could be helped. The woman who answered the phone was extremely helpful and even met us at the car with a wheelchair! Fantastic help. We were immediately helped with filling out forms and getting her x-ray and were in the procedure room in no time. Another point that I was very happy with was the cost. It was a very reasonable coast compared to if we had needed to go to the ER. I would definitely recommend this facility and will use it again in the future as well. Thank you to the entire staff, you were fantastic!

My Visit there was great with Dr. Chad Sherwood, which I was there at 8:30 AM, but picking up my medicine was bad. I went to NeighborHood Walmart an waited in a long line in the Drive-Thru Pharmacy at 4:30 PM that afternoon to get it & they had nothing for me, I called Urgent Care & they said it was called in at 9:30 AM or something like that, so I called Neighborhood Walmart back & they said they had nothing, they checked everywhere, Fax, Voice Mail and Ect., so I called Urgent Care back again & Autumn called it in for me & called me and let me know about 6 PM.

After talking to Eric, (nurse ) I felt more at ease. As he said he would be there in the office the next 5 days, and to call him if I started feeling short of breath or congested and he would get me some medicine. He made me feel I did not have to go thru this Corona Virus by myself, and to call him if anything came up and he would help me. That goes a long ways when you are dealing with this Virus, as you just never know what the next day will bring. This causes a lot of Anxiety, and to know I have someone saying -Call us, if Anything comes up, helps more than you will ever know. Very happy I came to Urgent Care.

Getting Urgent Care in Helena-West Helena, AR

Urgent care in Helena-West Helena is your best option for non-life threatening, quality medical care when you need it. Many urgent care centers in Helena-West Helena offer walk-in appointments during extended hours and on weekends. Solv even has clinic partners in the Helena-West Helena-area that offer online scheduling, allowing you to book a visit convenient to your schedule and skip the wait.

Walk-in clinics provide a convenient, fast alternative to emergency rooms—even primary care providers—treating minor injuries and illnesses including strep throat, infections, cold and flu symptoms, allergies, rashes, burns, bites, and more. Additionally, most offer preventative care including annual well exams, lab testing, and vaccinations.

When you’re in need of medical care for a non-life threatening condition, trust the urgent care providers nearby. And whenever possible, make it easier by scheduling and managing your visit with Solv.

A Patient's Guide to Urgent Care

In a recent survey conducted with the Urgent Care Association, Solv found that patients were waiting an average of 24 days for appointments with their primary care provider. In a world of instant gratification, consumers demand more. They demand now. If you want to watch a movie, you download it in minutes or stream it instantly. If you need groceries, you can pick up your phone and have them delivered to you within the hour. If you need restaurant reservations, you find one with availability, book online, walk in minutes later and sit right down. Healthcare shouldn’t be any different.

That’s why urgent care has been growing at a faster pace than any other healthcare service in the United States. And it is why healthcare consumers search for “urgent care” more than 5x more than “primary care” or “family doctor,” combined. These consumers are highly actionable, searching with high intent terms like “urgent care near me.” They want same day access to quality healthcare providers when they are sick or injured - after hours, one weekends and on holidays - without the cost and inconvenience of the emergency room.

Urgent care centers typically treat minor illnesses like the flu, sinus infections and strep throat, as well as injuries like bone fractures and sprains, cuts, scrapes and burns, making these clinics ideal for diagnosing and treating non-emergent healthcare needs. And at a growing rate urgent care clinics are offering preventative care services including annual physicals and well visits, flu shots and other immunizations and vaccines, taking on the role of primary care provider for the tens of millions of consumers that don’t have one.

For kids there are special pediatric urgent care centers, usually open after hours for patients between the ages of 1 and 18.

Urgent Care Services & Pricing

Urgent care centers, which are part of the walk-in clinic healthcare category, are a convenient resource for consumers needing treatment for minor illnesses and injuries. Services that you would normally receive at your primary care office are usually available at an urgent care including annual and school physicals, flu shots and immunizations, treatment for illnesses including colds, flu stomach pains, sinus and ear infections and more. You can also be seen for injuries such as burns, bites, sprains and breaks - things that you might first thing to go to the emergency room vs urgent care, but you’ll have a shorter wait and smaller bill at the urgent care. As for cost, without insurance, you should expect between $100-140 for your visit, plus the cost of any labs, tests or images. With insurance, urgent care will be similar to seeing a specialist with applicable co-pay.

Insurance & Payments

Nearly all urgent care centers take commercial insurance and many (if not most) will take medicare. As such if you have insurance coverage, you can expect the financial experience to be similar to visiting a specialist where you have a co-pay, usually $35-50, due at the time of the visit. Any additional lab work, x-rays or other tests performed will be billed against your insurance first and any supplemental balance due will be invoiced to you after the fact. Without insurance, you’ll pay a visit fee between $100-140 at the time of your visit. This is typically 25-50% more than your primary care provider, but usually the convenience is well worth the additional cost. If you are interested in a telehealth or video visit, your cost could be as much as 50% less than an urgent care, you could be diagnosed and prescribed medication and you’ll never have to leave your home.

Urgent Care Hours & Wait Times

Every urgent care center - even those part of the same group or brand - may have different hours. While they are meant to be conveniently accessible during times when your primary care provider is not, that’s subjective and highly variable. A traditional formula, however, is that an urgent care is open 6 to 7 days a week usually between the hours of 8 am to 8 pm. That could shift to nearly any 8-12 hour period between 7 am and 10 pm. You’ll even find some clinics open 24 hours a day, similar to an emergency room. As for wait time, most patients report waiting between 15-45 minutes on average, but that can certainly vary, as well. It’s usually best to find an urgent care near you to either confirm the hours online, or call the clinic directly to verify. Or, you can book a same day doctor appointment online with Solv.
