The whole experience was excellent.  I’m not very good with computers but the checkin staff was helpful clearly explaining. Nurses were efficient and competent from initial BP check to the shot I had to get at the end of the appt. The PA, Steven, whom I’ve had before, is very competent. He listens and acts accordingly.   I highly recommend AFC on North Campbell Station Rd.

I was actually touched by the doctor to find out what was up with my ankle and shoulder. Very professional and a professional and caring bedside manner. He also knew Dr. Willingham, my pediatrician. I'm positive I'm going to start going there for my primary care needs in the future. Spoke to a sweet lady who answered my questions very nicely!! Thanks, Maryville ParkMed!! You're #1.

Alcoa Chlamydia Testing

Who should get tested for chlamydia?

According to the CDC, anyone who is sexually active should consider getting tested for chlamydia. However, certain groups are at a higher risk and should definitely get tested. These include sexually active women under the age of 25, men who have sex with men, and anyone with multiple sexual partners or a new sexual partner. If you live in Alcoa, TN, and fall into any of these categories, it is recommended that you get tested.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for chlamydia is crucial because it is one of the most common sexually transmitted infections in the United States, and many people do not show symptoms. If left untreated, chlamydia can lead to serious health problems such as pelvic inflammatory disease in women and epididymitis in men, both of which can cause infertility. Moreover, having chlamydia increases your risk of acquiring or transmitting HIV. Regular testing allows for early detection and treatment, which can prevent these complications.
