Dr Stephen A Zinnanti, PA was amazing, caring professional and even though I was not feeling well he made me feel like he was going to make sure he got to the root cause and take care of it. I highly recommend him to all my friends and family.

The staff are so friendly and caring. I came with my elderly dad and they were gentle and treated him with such respect. The Dr. sat us down and explained everything and saved his life. She had us rush him to the ER so he could get admitted and receive care. We also hated taking the Covid test but they were very polite and gentle that I didn’t mind it. Thank you so much for you service and care.

About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

Anyone who is at risk of contracting hepatitis should consider getting tested. This includes individuals who have been in close contact with someone diagnosed with hepatitis, those who have shared needles or other drug paraphernalia, individuals with multiple sexual partners, and those who have received blood transfusions or organ transplants before 1992. Additionally, healthcare and public safety workers exposed to blood on the job, and individuals born between 1945 and 1965, are also recommended to get tested, according to the CDC.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for hepatitis is crucial as it can lead to serious health complications if left untreated, including liver damage, liver cancer, and even death. Early detection allows for prompt treatment, which can slow disease progression, prevent health complications, and reduce the risk of transmission. The CDC reports that many people with hepatitis do not know they are infected, making testing even more important.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits for hepatitis are also available. These kits can be ordered online, used in the privacy of your own home, and then sent back to a lab for results.

Prevalence of hepatitis in Fort Pierce

While specific data on the prevalence of hepatitis in Fort Pierce is not readily available, the state of Florida has seen a significant increase in hepatitis cases in recent years. This trend suggests that Fort Pierce, like many other cities in the state, may also be experiencing an increase in hepatitis cases. It's important to note that the actual number of cases may be higher, as many people with hepatitis do not know they are infected.

Risk factors related to hepatitis in Fort Pierce

Risk factors for hepatitis in Fort Pierce are likely similar to those in other parts of the country. These include unprotected sex, sharing needles or other drug paraphernalia, close contact with a person infected with hepatitis, and receiving a blood transfusion or organ transplant before 1992.

Other STDs in Fort Pierce

In addition to hepatitis, other STDs such as gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, and syphilis are also of concern in Fort Pierce. As with hepatitis, early detection and treatment of these STDs is crucial to prevent serious health complications. Therefore, anyone at risk should consider getting tested. Testing can be done at the same locations as hepatitis testing, including local urgent care centers, primary care providers, and community health centers.
