MultiCare Indigo Urgent Care, Lake Stevens - 911 Frontier Cir E, Lake Stevens
Very highly recommended. Walked in with no appointment and was told they had no openings until the afternoon, but I was welcome to wait. They scheduled an appointment online for me, for later that day. When I arrived at my appointment time, I was seen instantly. Dr Wendy and her staff were professional,  friendly, organized and caring. I was in and out quickly with a diagnosis and a prescription on its way to my drugstore. The entire suite was clean and disinfected, too. I highly recommend this facility, but be sure to make an appointment online before you go!

About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

Anyone who is sexually active, particularly with multiple partners, should consider getting tested for hepatitis. This is especially important for those who have unprotected sex or share needles, as these behaviors increase the risk of infection. Additionally, individuals who have been previously diagnosed with another STD/STI, such as gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, or syphilis, should also get tested for hepatitis, as these diseases can often co-occur.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for hepatitis is crucial for several reasons. Firstly, it allows for early detection and treatment, which can prevent serious liver damage. Secondly, knowing your hepatitis status can help prevent the spread of the disease to others. According to the CDC, hepatitis is a leading cause of liver cancer, so getting tested can potentially save lives.

Hepatitis testing options in Port Townsend, WA:

Urgent care and walk-in clinics

Primary care providers

Primary care providers are another good option for hepatitis testing. If you already have a primary care provider, you can ask them about getting tested during your next appointment.

Free STD testing and community health centers

There are also community health centers in the area that offer free or low-cost STD testing. These centers are a good option for those without insurance or who are unable to afford testing at a private clinic.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits for hepatitis are also available. These kits allow you to collect a sample at home and send it to a lab for testing. Results are typically available within a few days.

Prevalence of hepatitis in Port Townsend

While specific data for Port Townsend is not readily available, Island County, where Port Townsend is located, has seen a steady increase in hepatitis cases over the past few years. This trend is consistent with national data from the CDC, which shows an increase in hepatitis cases across the country.

Risk factors related to hepatitis in Port Townsend

Risk factors for hepatitis in Port Townsend are similar to those in other parts of the country. These include unprotected sex, multiple sexual partners, and sharing needles. Additionally, individuals who have been previously diagnosed with another STD/STI are at an increased risk.

Other STDs in Port Townsend

In addition to hepatitis, other STDs such as gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, and syphilis are also prevalent in Port Townsend and the surrounding areas. As with hepatitis, the rates of these diseases have been increasing in recent years. This further underscores the importance of regular STD testing for sexually active individuals.
