Great discreet service, scheduled my visit and paid for for the test online not in Showed up at lab, checked in and was seen within minutes. Blood and urine were collected, test results came back quickly within 2 days because I did my test on a Friday. Quick, easy and cheap. Didn't have to wait for a visit to my PCP, and then get referral to lab.

I’ve visited this urgent care ever since I’ve moved back to the RGV. The first visit was fine and I enjoyed going here. Today I came back because I got worse within the prior time frame of visiting the urgent care. This time a man by the name of Mark charged me and was VERY unprofessional in the manner. It’s a shame that this urgent care hires people like this to help aid those that are sick and need assistance. He was very rude. I don’t recommend him at all to anyone. He couldn’t answer a simple question without a disrespectful comment and tone of voice. Horrible customer service on HIS part. Will refuse him if I choose to go back.

Mission Chlamydia Testing

Who should get tested for chlamydia?

Chlamydia is a common sexually transmitted disease (STD) that can affect anyone who is sexually active. However, certain groups are at a higher risk and should consider regular testing. According to the CDC, these groups include sexually active women under the age of 25, men who have sex with men, and individuals with multiple sexual partners or those who do not consistently use condoms. People who have been previously diagnosed with an STD are also at a higher risk.

Importance of getting tested

Chlamydia is often asymptomatic, meaning it can go undetected and untreated if not for regular testing. Untreated chlamydia can lead to serious health complications such as pelvic inflammatory disease in women and epididymitis in men, both of which can cause infertility. Regular testing is crucial for early detection and treatment, preventing these complications and the spread of the infection to sexual partners.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits are also available for those who prefer privacy and convenience. These kits can be ordered online, used at home, and then sent back to a lab for testing. Results are usually available within a few days.

Risk factors related to chlamydia in Mission

Several factors contribute to the high prevalence of chlamydia in Mission. These include a high population density, a younger population, and socioeconomic factors such as lower income and education levels. These factors can limit access to healthcare and increase risky sexual behaviors, both of which can contribute to higher rates of STDs.
