A great experience for something I had a lot of anxiety about. Had no wait time or issues at the testing center/lab. Had blood drawn at 3pm and had results by email at 9am the next morning.

MEDcare Urgent Care, West Ashley, Sam Rittenberg - 1850 Sam Rittenberg Blvd, Charleston
I had brought my fiance there today, all day it had to be his birthday and he was already unhappy. The wait was a bit lond and so was the wait for the dr,Dr G Jones. When she cam in with her assistant, things changed because of the kind caring soul she is. He went for one thing and it turn was helped with a few problems that he had,Dr G Jones was great as was her assistant, but to top it off a big guy came in the room and had to give him a couple of shots,he hates needle but " Vince Vaughn" did a great job too,i just said Vince because he looks like him. I dont believe the bad reviews people write on here, this was 2 times and they were great for us.. Love them and they are great providers for us ans the community in which they serve.

North Charleston Chlamydia Testing

Who should get tested for chlamydia?

According to the CDC, anyone who is sexually active can get chlamydia, but the infection is more common in certain groups. Young people aged 15-24, especially women, are particularly at risk. Additionally, those with multiple sexual partners, or those who do not consistently use a condom, are also at a higher risk. In North Charleston, given the prevalence of chlamydia, it's recommended that sexually active individuals, particularly in the aforementioned risk groups, get tested regularly.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for chlamydia is crucial as it is often asymptomatic, meaning it shows no symptoms, making it easy to unknowingly pass on to others. If left untreated, chlamydia can lead to serious health problems, including pelvic inflammatory disease in women and epididymitis in men, both of which can cause infertility. Regular testing allows for early detection and treatment, preventing these potential complications.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits are also available for those who prefer privacy and convenience. These kits can be ordered online, used at home, and then sent to a lab for analysis.
