Multicare Indigo Urgent Care, Yakima - 2706 W Nob Hill Blvd
We w recommend to this Urgent care and we were glad we stopped in. We were seated with actually briefly and kindness along when talking there was a bit of laughter of what I talked about and that made me feel so comfortable. Waiting time was ok, for there were others near of me and I didn't have an appointment and waiting time was satisfactory. Was called in to see the Doctor and ER assistant and Doctor were very presice and I formative. They both made me feel so comfortable and explaining of my tests to be taken and why the blood drawing. When it came to draw my blood every thing went so smoothly and cry sanitizery. I only felt a very slight sting, and the rest nothing, it was the most pleasant blood drawing I ever had, really!! 🤗. The Doctor was really concerned about my blood pressure and weight, it's when we talked things over and recommended the Dash Diet and getting out more and gave me my perscription. I listened to everything she had said and let her know I will do as she suggested. They were also very concerned about my stress, knowing I had a lot to deal with, trying not to shed tears, the assistant showed so much kindness and the Doctor was so informative and I left that office with so much confidence knowing I can do this for you leae with them all letting you know you have their support. Thank you all for giving me the confidence I needed. Now I'm going to see about joining the aDash Iet program,, be the first time in my whole life that I found those that truly care. I would definitely recommend MultiCare Indigo MultiCare Urgent Care to everyone. THANK YOU so much!! 💞🤗

About Lead Testing

Lead Testing is a diagnostic test used to measure the levels of lead in the blood. Lead is a toxic metal that can have harmful effects on various body systems, especially in children, pregnant women, and individuals with occupational lead exposure. This test is essential for early detection and prevention of lead poisoning.

Who Should Get Tested

If you reside in Kittitas, Washington, and have risk factors for lead exposure or suspect lead poisoning, Lead Testing is recommended. Risk factors may include living in an older home with lead-based paint, working in lead-related industries, or having a history of pica (ingesting non-food items) in children.

Lead Testing in Children

In children, Lead Testing is especially crucial as lead exposure can cause developmental delays, learning difficulties, and behavioral problems. Children should be screened for lead exposure at ages 1 and 2 years, and more frequently if they are at higher risk.

Testing Methods

Lead Testing is typically performed using a small blood sample, usually obtained from a fingerstick or venipuncture. Blood samples are then sent to a laboratory for analysis.

Interpreting the Results

The interpretation of Lead Testing results is based on the concentration of lead in the blood. Lead levels are measured in micrograms per deciliter (μg/dL). Elevated lead levels indicate lead exposure, and additional testing and interventions may be needed to address lead poisoning.

Preventing Lead Exposure

Preventing lead exposure is essential for protecting individuals from the harmful effects of lead poisoning. Measures to reduce lead exposure include:

  • Regular inspection and maintenance of homes with lead-based paint
  • Proper handwashing and personal hygiene, especially for children
  • Using lead-safe practices in occupations with potential lead exposure
  • Ensuring a balanced and nutritious diet to reduce lead absorption

Following the Test

If Lead Testing indicates elevated lead levels, healthcare providers will work with individuals and families to identify the source of lead exposure and implement necessary interventions to reduce exposure and prevent lead poisoning.

Early detection and prevention through Lead Testing are critical in protecting the health and well-being of individuals, especially children, from the harmful effects of lead exposure.
