Great discreet service, scheduled my visit and paid for for the test online not in Showed up at lab, checked in and was seen within minutes. Blood and urine were collected, test results came back quickly within 2 days because I did my test on a Friday. Quick, easy and cheap. Didn't have to wait for a visit to my PCP, and then get referral to lab.

I was suffering for a week with cough and cold. Tried to treat it myself but wasn't working so I decided to go to the redi care. I was expecting it to be busy but there was only 1 other person in waiting room. I was in and out with 20mins with script for antibiotics. The female Dr was very nice and patient.

This was my first visit to this type of facility. I was miserable and thought I had the flu. I thought I’d give it a try instead of spending 3 or 4 hours waiting in the emergency room. The staff was efficient and friendly. I saw the doctor within 15 minutes and she was great. Great bedside manner, very professional and kind, too. She listened to all of my concerns and conducted a thorough exam. Overall, this was positive experience and I have highly recommended this facility to my friends and family. Thank you!

Getting Tested for STDs in Kingston, PA

Who should get tested for STDs?

Anyone who is sexually active should consider getting tested for sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). This is especially true for those with multiple sexual partners, those who have had unprotected sex, or those who have symptoms of an STD. According to the CDC, regular STD testing is also recommended for men who have sex with men, as they are at a higher risk for certain STDs.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is crucial for your health and the health of your partners. Many STDs are asymptomatic, meaning they present no symptoms, and can therefore go undetected without testing. Undiagnosed and untreated STDs can lead to serious health complications, including infertility, cancer, and increased susceptibility to HIV. Regular testing allows for early detection and treatment, reducing the risk of these complications.

Std testing options in Kingston, PA:

Urgent care and walk-in clinics

Urgent care and walk-in clinics offer convenient, same-day STD testing. Geisinger ConvenientCare in West Hazleton and Careworks Urgent Care in Wilkes-Barre are two nearby options. Both clinics have the capacity to handle walk-in STD testing, and you can book same-day and next-day appointments at each through Solv’s website and mobile app.

Primary care providers

Your primary care provider is another resource for STD testing. They can provide you with a referral to a lab for testing, or they may be able to perform the tests in their office.

Free STD testing and community health centers

For those without insurance or with limited financial resources, free STD testing may be available at community health centers. It's important to call ahead to confirm the availability of this service.

At-home testing

At-home STD testing kits provide another convenient option. These kits can be ordered online, used in the privacy of your own home, and then sent back to a lab for analysis.

Prevalence of STDs in Kingston

Kingston, located in Luzerne County, PA, has seen a rise in STD cases in recent years, mirroring a nationwide trend. According to the CDC, Luzerne County's STD rates are higher than those in nearby Hampshire, Hampden, Berkshire, Franklin, and Worcester Counties. The most common STDs in the area are chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis.

Risk factors related to STDs in Kingston

Several factors contribute to the prevalence of STDs in Kingston. A lack of comprehensive sex education and limited access to healthcare services are significant contributors. Additionally, stigma surrounding STD testing can deter individuals from seeking testing and treatment. To combat this, it's important to promote regular testing and education about STDs in the community.
