Wait time has always been short and sign in is done online, which I've enjoyed. We've seen Shiloh Manning FNP, Jeff Anderson PA, and one other PA, whose name escapes me at the moment. They've all been great. They've all been kind, happy to offer referrals to specialists, seemed to be concerned with our comfort and care, and helped with everything from women's health to pediatric needs for our family. If we've called in for a refill that was planned, we've gotten it called into Walgreens. We've had Xrays, liquid stitches, and labs drawn without problems. PA Jeff Anderson especially loves children and Shiloh Manning FNP, I would suggest to any female friend for all their basic health concerns. Happy to have them so close by.

Getting Tested for STDs in South Ogden, UT

Who should get tested for STDs?

Anyone who is sexually active should consider getting tested for sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). This includes those who are in monogamous relationships, as well as those with multiple partners. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), regular STD testing is recommended for individuals between the ages of 13 and 64. It's important to note that even if you are not experiencing any symptoms, you can still carry and transmit STDs.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is crucial for several reasons. Firstly, many STDs do not show symptoms, meaning you could be infected and unknowingly transmitting the disease to others. Secondly, early detection of STDs can prevent severe health complications, including infertility, certain types of cancer, and increased risk of HIV. Lastly, knowing your STD status can lead to peace of mind and informed decisions about your sexual health.

Free STD testing and community health centers

Free STD testing is available at various community health centers in and around South Ogden. These centers often offer confidential testing, but it's important to note that wait times can be longer than at urgent care clinics.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits are another option for STD testing. These kits can be ordered online, used in the privacy of your home, and then sent back to a lab for testing. Results are usually available within a few days.

South Ogden, located in Davis County, has seen an increase in STD rates over the past few years, mirroring a national trend. According to the CDC, the most common STDs in this area are chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis. The rates of these diseases are comparable to those in nearby cities such as Ogden, Roy, and West Haven, but are lower than the national average.

Risk factors related to STDs in South Ogden

Several risk factors contribute to the prevalence of STDs in South Ogden. These include unprotected sex, multiple sexual partners, and lack of regular testing. Additionally, certain demographic groups, such as young adults and men who have sex with men, are at a higher risk. Public health initiatives aimed at promoting safe sex practices and regular testing can help to mitigate these risks.
