Great discreet service, scheduled my visit and paid for for the test online not in Showed up at lab, checked in and was seen within minutes. Blood and urine were collected, test results came back quickly within 2 days because I did my test on a Friday. Quick, easy and cheap. Didn't have to wait for a visit to my PCP, and then get referral to lab.

Due to a in home accident l was there today around noon. Kara Saling, nurse practitioner needs to be on "kids stitch list!" That beautiful caring lady said it may pinch.. l felt barely a prick and absolutely nothing until she finished putting stitches in my browline. Her kind, patient skills and amazing technique is one KIDS would love but we all are privileged to receive her expertise. I have been to this location several times. Always treated with great service and respect.

Getting Tested for STDs in Louisville, KY

Who should get tested for STDs?

Getting tested for sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) is a crucial part of maintaining good health. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that anyone who is sexually active should consider regular STD testing. This includes individuals who have multiple sexual partners, those who engage in unprotected sex, or those who have a partner who has tested positive for an STD. It's also important to note that some STDs can be asymptomatic, meaning they show no symptoms, so regular testing is key to early detection and treatment.

Importance of getting tested

According to the CDC, early detection and treatment of STDs can prevent serious health complications such as infertility, certain types of cancer, and increased susceptibility to HIV. Regular testing also helps to prevent the spread of these diseases, as individuals who know their status can take steps to protect their partners.

Prevalence of STDs in Louisville

Louisville, located in Jefferson County, has seen a steady increase in STD rates over the years, mirroring national trends. According to the CDC, the most common STDs in this area are chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis. The rates of these diseases are higher in Louisville compared to nearby counties such as Bullitt County, Madison County, Wise County, Lee County, and Dickenson County.

Risk factors related to STDs in Louisville

Several factors contribute to the high STD rates in Louisville. These include a lack of comprehensive sex education, limited access to healthcare services, and social stigma associated with STD testing. Additionally, certain populations, such as young adults and men who have sex with men, are at a higher risk for STDs. Addressing these issues is crucial in reducing the spread of STDs in Louisville.
