Black Hills Urgent Care, Haines Ave - Urgent Care - 1730 Haines Ave, Rapid City
Came in with a fever for 7 days, was treated great by nurse and doctor, got antibiotics and 24 hours later the fever is gone and I’m able to eat. Doctor took me seriously when I told him what my needs were. He also referred me to a primary care doctor that I’ve been trying to find since we moved here. Very happy.

About Gonorrhea Testing

Who should get tested for gonorrhea?

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), anyone who is sexually active can get gonorrhea, but it's particularly prevalent among young people aged 15-24 years old. It's recommended for those who have new or multiple sex partners, a sex partner who has a sexually transmitted infection, or if they don't consistently use a condom during sex with partners whose STD status is unknown. Pregnant women should also get tested for gonorrhea, as it can cause serious health problems for the baby if left untreated.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for gonorrhea is crucial because it's a common infection that, when left untreated, can lead to serious health problems. According to the CDC, untreated gonorrhea can cause health problems in both men and women, including infertility, increased risk of getting or giving HIV, and potentially life-threatening complications. Furthermore, pregnant women with gonorrhea can pass the infection to their babies during childbirth, which can lead to blindness or life-threatening infections in the baby.
