This was my first visit there and I scheduled an appointment online and completed all the paperwork online. I arrived 10 minutes early and signed some documents and waited for an hour before I was called. The staff was nice and apologized for my wait and the doctor I saw was very nice but I doubt I’ll go back there

About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

Anyone who is at risk of exposure to hepatitis should consider getting tested. This includes individuals who have engaged in unprotected sex, shared needles, or have been in close contact with someone who has the disease. Additionally, those who have traveled to areas with high rates of hepatitis, or have certain medical conditions such as liver disease, should also consider getting tested. According to the CDC, early detection of hepatitis can prevent serious health complications such as liver damage and cancer.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for hepatitis is crucial as it can be asymptomatic, meaning you could have the disease without showing any symptoms. Early detection can help prevent the spread of the disease to others and allow for early treatment, reducing the risk of serious health complications. The CDC recommends that all adults aged 18 years and older get tested for hepatitis at least once in their lifetime.

Hepatitis testing options in Canton, OH:

Your primary care provider can also administer a hepatitis test. If you have commercial insurance through your employer, the cost of the test may be covered.

Free STD testing and community health centers

There are also community health centers in and around Canton that offer free or low-cost testing. These centers are a great resource for those without insurance or those who cannot afford the cost of testing.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits are another option for those who prefer privacy. These kits can be ordered online, used at home, and then sent back to a lab for analysis.

Comparatively, Canton's rates are similar to those of nearby counties such as Fayette and Erie, but higher than the national average, according to the CDC.

Risk factors related to hepatitis in Canton

Several factors contribute to the prevalence of hepatitis in Canton. These include high rates of unprotected sex, drug use, and a lack of awareness about the disease. Efforts to increase testing and education about hepatitis are crucial in reducing its spread.
