Next Level Urgent Care, Beaumont - 6342 Phelan Blvd
I was at Next Level Urgent care in Beaumont on Phelan Street. The young lady that checked me in was very helpful. Internet was slow so she did it for me on a tablet. I had Juan as a tech and Tina Marie as a provider and they were amazing. Very thorough and considerate. I could not have asked for better treatment. I left feeling like these people really care about others. Overall a great experience.

About Syphilis Testing

Who should get tested for syphilis?

Anyone who is sexually active can potentially contract syphilis, but certain groups are at higher risk. These include men who have sex with men, individuals with multiple sexual partners, and those who engage in unprotected sex. If you fall into any of these categories, it's recommended that you get tested for syphilis. Additionally, pregnant women should also be tested, as syphilis can be passed from mother to child during pregnancy, leading to serious complications.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for syphilis is crucial for multiple reasons. Firstly, syphilis can cause serious health complications if left untreated, including damage to the heart, brain, and other organs. Secondly, individuals with syphilis are more likely to contract HIV. Lastly, testing allows for early detection and treatment, which can prevent the spread of the infection to others.

At-home testing kits for syphilis are another option. These kits can be ordered online, used in the privacy of your own home, and then sent back to a lab for results.

This trend mirrors national data, which shows an overall increase in syphilis cases across the country. However, the rate in Orange is higher than in some nearby counties, such as Jefferson and Adams counties.

Risk factors related to syphilis in Orange

Risk factors for syphilis in Orange include unprotected sex, multiple sexual partners, and being a man who has sex with men. Additionally, individuals who have been previously diagnosed with another STD are at higher risk.

Other STDs in Orange

Syphilis is not the only STD of concern in Orange. Other common STDs include gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, and hepatitis. Like syphilis, these STDs can lead to serious health complications if left untreated. Therefore, comprehensive STD testing, which can be done at any of the 13 nearby testing locations, is recommended for anyone who is sexually active and at risk.
