I had a fever at 105 that eventually got brought down to 103 then to 100 and was throwing up and no other doctor would see me. They said they couldn’t see me because I had a fever and I was throwing up because those are signs of coronavirus. RIDICULOUS! It’s seems like any ill symptoms you have are now instantly put under as coronavirus. NextCare Urgent Care took me in with open arms. They still put there life at risk knowing I could possibly have covid. They gave me a rapid test and my test did come out NEGATIVE! They answered all my questions I had and were super nice to me even though I looked like a zombie. So so grateful for them considering I didn’t have to to the ER and get put with all the covid patients while having a weak immune system! Thank you so much NextCare Urgent Care!

Eric Bellfort, PA-C was excellent. He was caring, informed and listened to my concerns. As a tourist in Sedona, I was fearful of the change in air pressure while flying because of sinus congestion. He made helpful recommendations. So often medical providers are rushed. I was impressed by the time he spent with me.

Urgent Care FAQs

  • How much will an urgent care visit in Prescott Valley cost?

The price charged at an urgent care, whether in Prescott Valley or elsewhere, will be based on the location, and there are no actual standard costs between the clinics. Assuming you are paying with cash, you might come across an urgent clinic that charges you $50 while another situated some mile away charges you $100 for the same services. The standard cost in urgent care where insurance cover is not involved ranges from $100 to $125. This price is generally the standard price of a visit before extra services. There are a couple of additional care services that could make your appointment to an urgent care costly including x-rays and lab tests, medications and injections (such as immunization), casting broken bones, as well as stitches and splints. If you have a viable insurance plan in place, the standard pay will be between $20 – 50 depending on your insurance coverage and whether you are in contact with the provider.

  • Are Prescott Valley urgent care centers open after hours?

Most primary care doctor offices are open during routine work hours, Monday thru Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Conversely, most of the urgent care centers in Prescott Valley are available after hours, on weekends, and many holidays. Typical urgent care hours are 8:00 am to 8:00 pm daily, although location-specific hours may vary.

Historically, urgent care centers were strictly an on-demand, walk-in healthcare service mode. More recently, as consumer behaviors and expectations have evolved, many urgent care clinics have begun offering book ahead visits, allowing consumers to select a same-day or next-day time that works best for their schedule. Use Solv to find a Prescott Valley urgent care center that offers advanced bookings (or appointments) and book online.

While it would be easy to provide a list of urgent care centers in and around Prescott Valley, 'best' is a challenging term to qualify. With the list of locations above, use the filters provided to narrow the results to find the best urgent care for your needs.

  • What is urgent care?

Urgent care are available to assist patients that are looking for immediate, convenient medical care. In that manner, they are similar to an emergency room. The difference, however, is that ERs are meant to treat major, life-threatening injuries and illnesses while urgent care centers manage life’s minor bruises and bumps. In simple terms, an urgent care is seen as a walk-in health center that focuses in offering non-emergent health care conditions, including the treatment of the typical illnesses and injuries such as fractures and sprains, cuts and burns, scrapes, stings and bites, flu and cold symptoms, nausea and vomiting, abdominal pain, and much more. Most urgent care facilities offer both diagnostic and preventive care such as well visits, immunizations, STD testing and annual physicals. For regular visits and check-ups on these clinics, you should expect to pay between $20 and $100. The good thing is that most urgent care clinics will accept major PPOs and insurance cover, Medicare, as well as self-pay in the form of credit cards or cash. Urgent care clinics are located in most parts of the country in various regions to offset emergency room visits and provide a gap in healthcare services. They take patients during all hours of operations, which offer a significant convenience to most people who have and continue to undergo the need for sudden and immediate medical attention.

I was very impressed with my experience at Next Care Urgent Care!

- Verified patient on 2/27

I haven’t been to this Urgent Care in years & was dreading the wait. Once I got there, made the call to be Covid tested, everything went smoothly & professionally. Wait time was shorter than expected!

- Verified patient on 9/2

I am in and out quickly each time I have gone for my W/C injury. Every person... receptionist, PA, NP whom I have had contact with have treated me with respect, professionally, gently and have humored my twisted humor. If and when I ever need an Urgent Care, I will come to NextCare, Prescott Valley, AZ

- Verified patient on 4/19

The people that work there were all very nice and polite the PA I saw was capable and helped me with my problem. Granted the wait time was a little long but not surprising considering it’s probably the only healthcare most people in this town can get. This was the first time I have ever been to an urgent care, I would imagine the wait time was probably worse because of Covid

- Verified patient on 12/17

The receptionist was rude! Bad impression and terrible bed side manner. As I waited in the waiting area after filling out the COVID questionnaire, I stood there behind the door and she stared at me for an uncomfortable amount of t time. Finally I held my hands up, and she waved me through. While checking in, she did not explain what the next steps were, I had to ask her what came next. My appointment was 9/24 at 7:30 a.m. in Prescott Valley. AZ. Not even a smile or a “Welcome” or “Good Morning”. I will not ever recommend any one to this urgent care.

- Verified patient on 9/24

I was seen for foot pain. The FNP barely listened to me - kept one hand on the door the entire time. She also did not examine my foot, only briefly looked at it as it rested on the floor. She also misdiagnosed my symptoms as plantar fascitis. Knowing better, I saw a podiatrist for follow-up diagnosis - I have a stress fracture!! If I hadn't pursued my instincts, I would be in worse condition now than when I visited Urgent Care. Heidi should be fired. Horrible bedside manner. No care to truly understand my symptoms and provide correct diagnosis and recommended care.

- Verified patient on 1/19

The staff here was very friendly, the wait was a bit lengthy but they will call you when your appointment is ready so you don’t have to wait there, this worked out really well as I came back in they were calling me to inform me I was next. All in all this urgent care was very helpful and the staff was extremely kind. I would recommend 👍

- Verified patient on 11/23

Listed as a covid testing site.....but it isn't really.....required to do an urgent care visit....expensive syndrome consuming.

- Verified patient on 11/18

Told to go to walgreens to get meds.5:30 went to walgreens waited in line told scheduled to pick up at 7:00pm went back to walgreens told Nextcare did not get approval from VA they called Nextcare but were closed so I guess this urgent care did not work for me. NOW tomorrow i have to call nextcare and find out how much longer i have to wait for my meds. But i have a dr appt in flagstaff.

Was better than other Urgent Cares, staff was pleasant 👍

According to Letrica Rowe PA-C who was tending. She has NO Authority 2 take you off work even though you've slipped and Fallen and seriously hurt yourself where you can't even drive yourself to urgent care.

- Verified patient on 1/29

Arrived at the Scottsdale location and was immediately greeted by desk reception. Person explained the process and I started to register using a QR Code. Registration process was quick and easy. I was even able to take a photo of my driver’s license and insurance card to upload. I was in the waiting room for roughly 5-10 minutes before being called into the treatment area. That was so fast that I barely had enough time to complete the registration….awesome! The triage person took my vitals, asked why I was being seen, and swabbed my throat for strep. Not the friendliest person but she performed her services well. I was then taken to an exam room where I waited for less that 5 minutes for a provider who entered into the room to exam and diagnose me. Ryan was his name and he was a FNP (Family Nurse Practitioner). Great guy with a great bedside manner too. Explained everything extremely well and I was discharged within another 5 minutes. I waited in the patient waiting room for another 2 minutes for my discharge paperwork. The whole visit took virtually no time. The facility was extremely clean and everyone was required to wear a mask. Thru accept tons of insurance plans and because I had met my deductible, I was not required to pay for anything. I would highly recommend using this Urgent Care Facility and I would not hesitate to return should I need to be seen in the future.

- Verified patient on 12/25

Checking in appt time online is a joke. Waited for 45 after appt time to see dr. Front desk women were talking out loud and giving opinions about me not having insurance. And just overall rude. Nurse was nice but seemed overworked. Overall not pleased. We’ll choose a different urgent care next time.

- Verified patient on 6/23

We don’t go to urgent care generally and do not know how it is ran. We were initially greeted with “do you have a reservation?” I inquired what does that mean The receptionist was rude snarky and did not want to explain. The count down waiting list was nice to see how close we were. The medical assistant did not seem to want to be there. Super tired acting. The PA was very pleasant. When she left however we were unsure if we needed to leave or wait. After 15 minutes waiting we went to hall to see if anyone could help us. The hold up was not getting our discharge papers sitting on the printer. We finally got them and was escorted out. Arrived at *** departure ***

Next Care Urgent Care is what I call “modern medicine”. Or “current care”. Meaning that the way Next Care is managed as a business and as a medical facility should be adopted by ALL medical facilities! Mind you this is for non life threatening issues. Go to the emergency room for that. For all other medical needs for any member of your family, I highly recommend going here or to a facility that is managed the same way. 1. Once you register you wait time can be managed from a smart phone. This provides you the opportunity to stay home until the staff is ready to see you. No waiting at the office. You can if you wish (aside from COVID related issues). They will text you when it is time to come in. Drive straight to the office and they will be expecting you. 2. Treatment is pretty standard but very friendly. No stuffy Dr. or clinical feeling. 3. They offer a membership program for $39 a month. To get started I paid around $170 for 3 months. My bill was well over $300 for the visit and two tests. Any future visit only costs $39 + and outside treatment and or testing if needed. For someone that doesn’t have OVER PRICED MEDICAL INSURANCE this is extremely affordable access to awesome medical care and preventative treatment. Even if you have medical insurance I would still recommend this service if nothing more then the wait time. We all know nursing a sick child is way easier at home then in the office. Plus you can’t beat the cost. Highly recommend! Go Next Care.

I am so very BLESSED! Dr. Ann helped me sooo much!! I am in Urgent Care, (it seems like) at least 2-3 times a month. I am mentally and physically disabled, a Single Parent and I have 3 children. I was in there for 1 1/2 hours, due to everything being my fault. Dr. Ann was the only Doctor that was able to find the true cause of my sickness. I have been sick for 2 months, even went to TMC a few weeks ago. All along, the fevers, pain in my head, not sleeping, and sore throat, wasn’t “Viral”. It was from an Ear Infection that had 2 months of dried up blood, (that turned black and hard) in my Ear Canal. She took up so much of her time on me, that I PRAY TO GOD, that HE Blesses her! All this time. Since July 17th, my birthday. I had gotten a “Daith piercing” to stop migraines from the TBI. Well, I blood a lot from the piercing, and when she said “she couldn’t see inside my ear because of the Wax buildup”, I told her the truth. I went into Urgent Care thinking I had the Covid, or Mono (Dr. Ann just diagnosed my 17 year old with it 6 days ago) and it was neither one. My Ear was infected. It took her 1 1/2 hours to get 6 pieces of, (what looked like) black coal out of my Ear Canal. It was actually 2 months of dried up blood. I’m cannot THANK Dr. Ann or the entire Staff, enough! My eldest sister, is Dr. Annie Pearson. I do hope one day they can meet because my own sister was shocked that TMC didn’t catch it! GOOD JOB Urgent Care for hiring Dr. Ann at Old Spanish Trail in Tucson, Arizona!!!!! Thank you, Maureen Pearson

My experience overall was very good but I am disappointed that they made me pay $35 because it was a Sunday and couldn't verify my insurance. My insurance pays 100 percent at urgent care. Now I have to try and get reimbursed.

- Verified patient on 2/21

Thankful to have this urgent care. I went there for my two year old daughter because they had good reviews. The staff was very friendly and good with her. Had to wait about 45 min once in the exam room but id take that any day over waiting 14 hours like I have before in an ER. Overall pleasant experience and I would go back if needed.

Urgent Care in Prescott Valley

Urgent care is Prescott Valley's best option for quality medical care when you need it, offering walk-in appointments during extended hours and on weekends. Solv even has clinic partners in the Prescott Valley-area that offer online scheduling, allowing you to book a visit convenient to your schedule and skip the wait.

Walk-in clinics provide a convenient, fast alternative to emergency rooms—even primary care providers—treating minor injuries and illnesses including strep throat, infections, cold and flu symptoms, allergies, rashes, burns, bites, and more. Additionally, most offer preventative care including annual well exams, lab testing, and vaccinations.

When you’re in need of medical care for a non-life threatening condition, trust the urgent care providers nearby. And whenever possible, make it easier by scheduling and managing your visit with Solv.

Urgent Care Guide

In a recent survey conducted with the Urgent Care Association, Solv found that patients were waiting an average of 24 days for appointments with their primary care provider. In a world of instant gratification, consumers demand more. They demand now. If you want to watch a movie, you download it in minutes or stream it instantly. If you need groceries, you can pick up your phone and have them delivered to you within the hour. If you need restaurant reservations, you find one with availability, book online, walk in minutes later and sit right down. Healthcare shouldn’t be any different.

That’s why urgent care has been growing at a faster pace than any other healthcare service in the United States. And it is why healthcare consumers search for “urgent care” more than 5x more than “primary care” or “family doctor,” combined. These consumers are highly actionable, searching with high intent terms like “urgent care near me.” They want same day access to quality healthcare providers when they are sick or injured - after hours, one weekends and on holidays - without the cost and inconvenience of the emergency room.

Urgent care centers typically treat minor illnesses like the flu, sinus infections and strep throat, as well as injuries like bone fractures and sprains, cuts, scrapes and burns, making these clinics ideal for diagnosing and treating non-emergent healthcare needs. And at a growing rate urgent care clinics are offering preventative care services including annual physicals and well visits, flu shots and other immunizations and vaccines, taking on the role of primary care provider for the tens of millions of consumers that don’t have one.

For kids there are special pediatric urgent care centers, usually open after hours for patients between the ages of 1 and 18.

Urgent Care Services & Pricing

Urgent care centers, which are part of the walk-in clinic healthcare category, are a convenient resource for consumers needing treatment for minor illnesses and injuries. Services that you would normally receive at your primary care office are usually available at an urgent care including annual and school physicals, flu shots and immunizations, treatment for illnesses including colds, flu stomach pains, sinus and ear infections and more. You can also be seen for injuries such as burns, bites, sprains and breaks - things that you might first thing to go to the emergency room vs urgent care, but you’ll have a shorter wait and smaller bill at the urgent care. As for cost, without insurance, you should expect between $100-140 for your visit, plus the cost of any labs, tests or images. With insurance, urgent care will be similar to seeing a specialist with applicable co-pay.

Insurance & Payments

Nearly all urgent care centers take commercial insurance and many (if not most) will take medicare. As such if you have insurance coverage, you can expect the financial experience to be similar to visiting a specialist where you have a co-pay, usually $35-50, due at the time of the visit. Any additional lab work, x-rays or other tests performed will be billed against your insurance first and any supplemental balance due will be invoiced to you after the fact. Without insurance, you’ll pay a visit fee between $100-140 at the time of your visit. This is typically 25-50% more than your primary care provider, but usually the convenience is well worth the additional cost. If you are interested in a telehealth or video visit, your cost could be as much as 50% less than an urgent care, you could be diagnosed and prescribed medication and you’ll never have to leave your home.

Urgent Care Hours & Wait Times

Every urgent care center - even those part of the same group or brand - may have different hours. While they are meant to be conveniently accessible during times when your primary care provider is not, that’s subjective and highly variable. A traditional formula, however, is that an urgent care is open 6 to 7 days a week usually between the hours of 8 am to 8 pm. That could shift to nearly any 8-12 hour period between 7 am and 10 pm. You’ll even find some clinics open 24 hours a day, similar to an emergency room. As for wait time, most patients report waiting between 15-45 minutes on average, but that can certainly vary, as well. It’s usually best to find an urgent care near you to either confirm the hours online, or call the clinic directly to verify. Or, you can book a same day doctor appointment online with Solv.
