NextCare Urgent Care, Yuma - 1394 W 16th St, Yuma
The person at the front office assumes everyone knows the clinic procedures. He was not rude, but was short with his explanations. A little empathy goes a long way.

Pinnacle HealthCare - 4343 E 31st Pl, Yuma
After 20 years with the same health insurance and PCP, it became necessary for me to change both. This was my first visit at this clinic and I feel they were very professional and kind. I also feel the doctor was interested in who I was as a person. We had a nice visit while he did my annual wellness exam.

Urgent Care FAQs

  • How much will an urgent care visit in Yuma cost?

The price charged at an urgent care, whether in Yuma or elsewhere, will be based on the location, and there are no actual standard costs between the clinics. Assuming you are paying with cash, you might come across an urgent clinic that charges you $50 while another situated some mile away charges you $100 for the same services. The standard cost in urgent care where insurance cover is not involved ranges from $100 to $125. This price is generally the standard price of a visit before extra services. There are a couple of additional care services that could make your appointment to an urgent care costly including x-rays and lab tests, medications and injections (such as immunization), casting broken bones, as well as stitches and splints. If you have a viable insurance plan in place, the standard pay will be between $20 – 50 depending on your insurance coverage and whether you are in contact with the provider.

  • Are Yuma urgent care centers open after hours?

Most primary care doctor offices are open during routine work hours, Monday thru Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Conversely, most of the urgent care centers in Yuma are available after hours, on weekends, and many holidays. Typical urgent care hours are 8:00 am to 8:00 pm daily, although location-specific hours may vary.

  • Do urgent care centers in Yuma take appointments?

Historically, urgent care centers were strictly an on-demand, walk-in healthcare service mode. More recently, as consumer behaviors and expectations have evolved, many urgent care clinics have begun offering book ahead visits, allowing consumers to select a same-day or next-day time that works best for their schedule. Use Solv to find a Yuma urgent care center that offers advanced bookings (or appointments) and book online.

  • How do I book an appointment online with an urgent care in Yuma?

  • What is the best urgent care center in Yuma?

While it would be easy to provide a list of urgent care centers in and around Yuma, 'best' is a challenging term to qualify. For some consumers, that could mean the closest location whereas other people may prioritize patient reviews, service costs, availability, or whether or not the provider accepts their insurance. With the list of locations above, use the filters provided to narrow the results to find the best urgent care for your needs.

  • What is urgent care?

Urgent care are available to assist patients that are looking for immediate, convenient medical care. In that manner, they are similar to an emergency room. The difference, however, is that ERs are meant to treat major, life-threatening injuries and illnesses while urgent care centers manage life’s minor bruises and bumps. In simple terms, an urgent care is seen as a walk-in health center that focuses in offering non-emergent health care conditions, including the treatment of the typical illnesses and injuries such as fractures and sprains, cuts and burns, scrapes, stings and bites, flu and cold symptoms, nausea and vomiting, abdominal pain, and much more. Most urgent care facilities offer both diagnostic and preventive care such as well visits, immunizations, STD testing and annual physicals. For regular visits and check-ups on these clinics, you should expect to pay between $20 and $100. The good thing is that most urgent care clinics will accept major PPOs and insurance cover, Medicare, as well as self-pay in the form of credit cards or cash. Urgent care clinics are located in most parts of the country in various regions to offset emergency room visits and provide a gap in healthcare services. They take patients during all hours of operations, which offer a significant convenience to most people who have and continue to undergo the need for sudden and immediate medical attention.

First time using this urgent care and was impressed with the staff.

One of the best urgent cares here in Yuma great service great stuff very friendly no long wait time and clean couldn’t have choose a better urgent care for my son thank you

- Verified patient on 8/19

I believe Next Urgent Care is a good place to visit when I’am sick. I think, Alex Galvez has been, so far the best prescriber I ever had. He was ver professional at the time of my check out and knew right away I had a red throat, so he prescribed for me the right medications and let me know what are they for and the time to take them! Thank you.

- Verified patient on 1/3

I believe Next Care Urgent Care has experienced caregivers, so glad Alex Galvez was the one who prescribed for me today I asked if he was there because he is the best on prescribing medicines because he seems to care about patients and got a lot of experience, so professional because after my check out. He explained to me what kind of sickness I had been experiencing. I’m glad I was in good hands to get the best medicines for my sickness! Thank you.

Everyone here is professional, knowledgeable and very nice! I felt like I was in good hands for sure! I love NextCare Urgent Care and have recommended it to my friends.

- Verified patient on 11/28

The lobby was packed but I understand that’s not the facility’s fault. I waited over an hour to be seen. The medical assistant guessed my son had the flu. The test came back negative. She started him on antibiotics anyways. The lobby was dirty. There were cookie or bread crumbs near the door to the exam rooms. There were dirty tissues and napkins under the chairs. The staff was kinda friendly except when I asked where the restroom was. They looked at me like I was an alien. I’m from out of town and it’s embarrassing that yumas next care urgent care has staff like this.

- Verified patient on 2/1

They do a good job. My complaints would be that it is difficult to get through by phone. When we went to Walmart to pick up the prescriptions, I picked up one prescription. The PA had me believe that I had at least two prescriptions to pick up. I called Urgent Care and asked them to let me know. It has been a week and no call.

- Verified patient on 12/3

I was told they would send my rx, went and waited in line and they said nothing was received. By the time I was at the pharmacy, the urgent care facility was closed and I couldn’t call for them to resend it. Waste of my time and very inconvenient.

- Verified patient on 10/27

I went in for a sore throat. I got tested for COVID. They gave me a paper telling me to isolate for 5 days till I get my results for COVID. Are you guys making Commission Off of COVID? I had to ask the staff if I could get tested for a sore throat after they told me I was good to go. Is everything COVID or nothing these days? Sure I have a sore throat and it is one of the many symptoms of covid but that is the only symptom I have. I do not feel fatigued or have the fever. Very disappointed! I thought I was going to urgent care but if felt like I walked into a “covid only testing center”

- Verified patient on 6/20

My experience at the urgent care was really good. The only thing that was upsetting was that my medication was sent to my pharmacy. I went back the next day and the receptionist stated that I would have to get seen again since the provider that saw me yesterday was not in.

- Verified patient on 8/6

NP said he would prescribe me medication for my congestion and headaches and never did. I called urgent care said said I would get a call back and never did.

- Verified patient on 2/10

This was my easiest and best experience with an urgent care facility I have ever had. The staff was so professional and efficient! I will be recommending to everyone I know!

- Verified patient on 11/13

Waited Two hours after arriving at ***. One and a half hours at the pharmacy which Urgent Care did not fax. Went back to Urgent care to pick up a paper script.

- Verified patient on 3/27

Great Experience! I will forgo the ER next time and go straight to NextCare Urgent Care. Thank You so much to the staff of Yuma,AZ NextCare!!

I was instructed by your call center that the urgent Care I went to had curbside service which turned out to be a lie. I asked to call center before I went there if I could have there brick and mortar office I was going to number so I can verify everything and they told me it was not possible that it would just go through them. When I got to the next care they told me they wouldn't be able to do it because they were out of tests and this was at 3:03 p.m. . I got pretty angry and I demanded to be able to write a complaint or I wasn't going to leave and they would have to call the police. they called the call center to try to get me a complaint and five minutes later they told me they could h make an appointment for my daughter and I after 5. I asked how they magically got some more tests and they wouldn't answer me. The call center told me earlier that they just got a whole new shipment today so I don't know what's going on. When I showed up for appointments at 5:20 we signed in and were instructed to wait outside. After about 30 minutes in the hundred plus degree heat, they called us in to fill out some paperwork. I took a pin from the cup and gave it to my daughter and one for myself to start filling out paperwork and halfway through it downd me that the pins were not wrapped in any plastic. every other place I've been to lately has pans brand new and plastic and has the people take them. When I expressed my concern to Lady behind the desk she told me they spray them often with a disinfectant. I did not believe this so when we were done filling out our paperwork, I set our pens off to the side and went back to see the doctor. I was hoping to be wrong about my assumption but on our way out I looked at the counter and there were the pens right where I left them. This was over an hour after I set them there. It scares me that the place where people go to get tested might end up getting a negative test but because they filled out some paperwork there they will later have it and it would be as a result of your clinic. I would really like you to get back to me about this. I took a little video for evidence just in case I hear of people passing away that went there for tests. I look forward to hearing from you about what can be done about this thank you

I am so very BLESSED! Dr. Ann helped me sooo much!! I am in Urgent Care, (it seems like) at least 2-3 times a month. I am mentally and physically disabled, a Single Parent and I have 3 children. I was in there for 1 1/2 hours, due to everything being my fault. Dr. Ann was the only Doctor that was able to find the true cause of my sickness. I have been sick for 2 months, even went to TMC a few weeks ago. All along, the fevers, pain in my head, not sleeping, and sore throat, wasn’t “Viral”. It was from an Ear Infection that had 2 months of dried up blood, (that turned black and hard) in my Ear Canal. She took up so much of her time on me, that I PRAY TO GOD, that HE Blesses her! All this time. Since July 17th, my birthday. I had gotten a “Daith piercing” to stop migraines from the TBI. Well, I blood a lot from the piercing, and when she said “she couldn’t see inside my ear because of the Wax buildup”, I told her the truth. I went into Urgent Care thinking I had the Covid, or Mono (Dr. Ann just diagnosed my 17 year old with it 6 days ago) and it was neither one. My Ear was infected. It took her 1 1/2 hours to get 6 pieces of, (what looked like) black coal out of my Ear Canal. It was actually 2 months of dried up blood. I’m cannot THANK Dr. Ann or the entire Staff, enough! My eldest sister, is Dr. Annie Pearson. I do hope one day they can meet because my own sister was shocked that TMC didn’t catch it! GOOD JOB Urgent Care for hiring Dr. Ann at Old Spanish Trail in Tucson, Arizona!!!!! Thank you, Maureen Pearson

Getting Urgent Care in Yuma, AZ

Urgent care in Yuma is your best option for non-life threatening, quality medical care when you need it. Many urgent care centers in Yuma offer walk-in appointments during extended hours and on weekends. Solv even has clinic partners in the Yuma-area that offer online scheduling, allowing you to book a visit convenient to your schedule and skip the wait.

Walk-in clinics provide a convenient, fast alternative to emergency rooms—even primary care providers—treating minor injuries and illnesses including strep throat, infections, cold and flu symptoms, allergies, rashes, burns, bites, and more. Additionally, most offer preventative care including annual well exams, lab testing, and vaccinations.

When you’re in need of medical care for a non-life threatening condition, trust the urgent care providers nearby. And whenever possible, make it easier by scheduling and managing your visit with Solv.

A Patient's Guide to Urgent Care

In a recent survey conducted with the Urgent Care Association, Solv found that patients were waiting an average of 24 days for appointments with their primary care provider. In a world of instant gratification, consumers demand more. They demand now. If you want to watch a movie, you download it in minutes or stream it instantly. If you need groceries, you can pick up your phone and have them delivered to you within the hour. If you need restaurant reservations, you find one with availability, book online, walk in minutes later and sit right down. Healthcare shouldn’t be any different.

That’s why urgent care has been growing at a faster pace than any other healthcare service in the United States. And it is why healthcare consumers search for “urgent care” more than 5x more than “primary care” or “family doctor,” combined. These consumers are highly actionable, searching with high intent terms like “urgent care near me.” They want same day access to quality healthcare providers when they are sick or injured - after hours, one weekends and on holidays - without the cost and inconvenience of the emergency room.

Urgent care centers typically treat minor illnesses like the flu, sinus infections and strep throat, as well as injuries like bone fractures and sprains, cuts, scrapes and burns, making these clinics ideal for diagnosing and treating non-emergent healthcare needs. And at a growing rate urgent care clinics are offering preventative care services including annual physicals and well visits, flu shots and other immunizations and vaccines, taking on the role of primary care provider for the tens of millions of consumers that don’t have one.

For kids there are special pediatric urgent care centers, usually open after hours for patients between the ages of 1 and 18.

Urgent Care Services & Pricing

Urgent care centers, which are part of the walk-in clinic healthcare category, are a convenient resource for consumers needing treatment for minor illnesses and injuries. Services that you would normally receive at your primary care office are usually available at an urgent care including annual and school physicals, flu shots and immunizations, treatment for illnesses including colds, flu stomach pains, sinus and ear infections and more. You can also be seen for injuries such as burns, bites, sprains and breaks - things that you might first thing to go to the emergency room vs urgent care, but you’ll have a shorter wait and smaller bill at the urgent care. As for cost, without insurance, you should expect between $100-140 for your visit, plus the cost of any labs, tests or images. With insurance, urgent care will be similar to seeing a specialist with applicable co-pay.

Insurance & Payments

Nearly all urgent care centers take commercial insurance and many (if not most) will take medicare. As such if you have insurance coverage, you can expect the financial experience to be similar to visiting a specialist where you have a co-pay, usually $35-50, due at the time of the visit. Any additional lab work, x-rays or other tests performed will be billed against your insurance first and any supplemental balance due will be invoiced to you after the fact. Without insurance, you’ll pay a visit fee between $100-140 at the time of your visit. This is typically 25-50% more than your primary care provider, but usually the convenience is well worth the additional cost. If you are interested in a telehealth or video visit, your cost could be as much as 50% less than an urgent care, you could be diagnosed and prescribed medication and you’ll never have to leave your home.

Urgent Care Hours & Wait Times

Every urgent care center - even those part of the same group or brand - may have different hours. While they are meant to be conveniently accessible during times when your primary care provider is not, that’s subjective and highly variable. A traditional formula, however, is that an urgent care is open 6 to 7 days a week usually between the hours of 8 am to 8 pm. That could shift to nearly any 8-12 hour period between 7 am and 10 pm. You’ll even find some clinics open 24 hours a day, similar to an emergency room. As for wait time, most patients report waiting between 15-45 minutes on average, but that can certainly vary, as well. It’s usually best to find an urgent care near you to either confirm the hours online, or call the clinic directly to verify. Or, you can book a same day doctor appointment online with Solv.
