A great experience for something I had a lot of anxiety about. Had no wait time or issues at the testing center/lab. Had blood drawn at 3pm and had results by email at 9am the next morning.

I brought my daughter in for stitches. There was no wait and they treated her quickly. I’ve been to ERs for similar issues and have easily spent hours waiting for one or two stitches, so I was so surprised to be in an out in less than hour. The doctor here was so friendly and so reassuring to my daughter. The nurses made sure that my daughter was comfortable and helped assuage her fears. I would give the experience ten stars if I could.

I called ahead to this location and was told there were about nine people already waiting to be seen, and that that was consistent for the day up to my call. I also tried calling other locations without any success - the phone number was bad or nobody answered the call. So I went and was pleasantly surprised to see only one person in the lobby. I was assisted much sooner than expected. The longest delay was waiting for the doctor to arrive in my room, but even that was not too long. I left the building feeling very good about the services at this location.

Chesapeake Chlamydia Testing

Who should get tested for chlamydia?

According to the CDC, anyone who is sexually active can get chlamydia, but the infection is more prevalent among young women. Specifically, sexually active individuals under the age of 25, as well as older individuals with risk factors such as new or multiple sex partners, or a sex partner who has a sexually transmitted infection, should get tested for chlamydia. Pregnant women should also get tested.

Importance of getting tested

Chlamydia is often called the 'silent epidemic' because most people who have it don't show symptoms, but it can lead to serious health complications if left untreated. These include pelvic inflammatory disease in women and epididymitis in men, both of which can cause infertility. Testing is the only sure way to determine if you have chlamydia, and early detection can prevent these complications.

Free STD testing and community health centers

Community health centers often offer free or low-cost testing for chlamydia and other STDs. These centers are a valuable resource for those without insurance or those seeking confidential testing.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits are another option for chlamydia testing. These kits can be ordered online, used in the privacy of your own home, and then sent to a lab for analysis. While convenient, it's important to ensure that the test is from a reputable source to ensure accurate results.
