Staff is as amazing as always. Treated my son with respect and compassion the second he walked through the door. This is our second time at this facility which is always clean and smells clean. This is also the second time with the same provider who is very knowledgeable, empathetic, and patient. Definitely will be returning should we need to.

AFC Urgent Care, Statesville NC - 210 Turnersburg Hwy
Made my reservation online which was a breeze. Did not wait in the waiting room long since I was the only one in there. My nurse was amazing and very attentive to the reason I was there. She had the room light dimmed and turned the tv off. I was there for a 8 out of 10 migraine and vertigo. In Virginia Beach my pain management Dr or urgent care Dr would give me a cocktail of pain shots to help relieve my migraine until I could get into my pain management appt. Here I get one shot which equals out to NSADs and not even a shot for nausea but a prescription. I am done going there. I am now on my way to the ER due to no relief provided. So much for saving any money 💰

About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

Hepatitis is a serious health concern that can affect anyone, but certain groups are more at risk. According to the CDC, those who should consider getting tested for hepatitis include individuals who share needles or other drug paraphernalia, have unprotected sex with multiple partners, are healthcare or public safety workers exposed to blood on the job, have a liver disease, or are born to a mother with hepatitis. It's also recommended for individuals who are planning to travel to countries where hepatitis is common.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for hepatitis is crucial because it can lead to serious health complications if left untreated, including liver damage, liver cancer, and even death. According to the CDC, many people with hepatitis do not have symptoms and do not know they are infected. Early detection through testing allows for prompt treatment to prevent these severe outcomes and reduce the spread of the disease.

Hepatitis testing options in Salisbury, NC:

Primary care providers are another reliable option for hepatitis testing. They can provide comprehensive care, including testing, treatment, and follow-up.

Free STD testing and community health centers

Community health centers in Salisbury and nearby counties offer free or low-cost hepatitis testing, making it accessible to everyone, regardless of income.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits are another convenient option for hepatitis testing. These kits can be ordered online, used in the privacy of your home, and sent back to a lab for analysis.

Prevalence of hepatitis in Salisbury

Salisbury, located in Davie County, has seen a steady increase in hepatitis cases over the years. This trend mirrors the national data, which shows a rise in hepatitis cases across the country. It's important to note that the actual number of cases might be higher, as many people with hepatitis do not know they are infected.

Risk factors related to hepatitis in Salisbury

Risk factors for hepatitis in Salisbury include unprotected sex, sharing needles or other drug paraphernalia, and occupational exposure to blood. The prevalence of these risk factors in Salisbury contributes to the higher rates of hepatitis compared to nearby counties such as Raleigh County and Fayette County.

Other STDs in Salisbury

In addition to hepatitis, other STDs such as gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, and syphilis are prevalent in Salisbury. The rates of these STDs are also higher in Salisbury compared to nearby cities like East Spencer and Granite Quarry. This underscores the importance of regular STD testing for sexually active individuals in Salisbury.
