This was my first visit there and I scheduled an appointment online and completed all the paperwork online. I arrived 10 minutes early and signed some documents and waited for an hour before I was called. The staff was nice and apologized for my wait and the doctor I saw was very nice but I doubt I’ll go back there

About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

According to the CDC, anyone who has been exposed to hepatitis or is at risk should get tested. This includes individuals who have used drugs intravenously, have had unprotected sex with multiple partners, have traveled to or lived in countries with high rates of hepatitis, have been incarcerated, or have been in close contact with someone who has hepatitis. It's important to note that hepatitis often shows no symptoms, so testing is the only sure way to know if you have it.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for hepatitis is crucial for several reasons. Firstly, it allows for early detection and treatment, which can prevent serious complications like liver damage and liver cancer. Secondly, knowing your status can help prevent the spread of the disease to others. According to the CDC, many people with hepatitis don't know they have it, so testing is a vital step in controlling the spread of the disease.

Hepatitis testing options in New Franklin, OH:

Urgent care and walk-in clinics

Urgent care and walk-in clinics are good options for hepatitis testing in New Franklin. Quickmed Urgent Care, located at 1037 N Main St, Akron, OH 44310, is a nearby location where you can book same-day or next-day testing appointments through Solv’s website and mobile app.

Primary care providers

Primary care providers can also provide hepatitis testing. If you have a primary care provider, it's a good idea to discuss your risk factors and any potential symptoms with them. They can order the appropriate tests and provide follow-up care and treatment if necessary.

Free STD testing and community health centers

Community health centers often offer free or low-cost STD testing, including for hepatitis. These centers are a valuable resource for those without insurance or who are unable to afford testing elsewhere.

At-home testing

At-home testing is another option for hepatitis testing. These kits can be ordered online, used at home, and then sent back to a lab for analysis. This can be a convenient option for those who prefer privacy or are unable to visit a testing center.

Prevalence of hepatitis in New Franklin

While specific data for New Franklin is not readily available, Summit County, where New Franklin is located, has seen a consistent number of hepatitis cases over the years. Risk factors for hepatitis in New Franklin are similar to those in other parts of the country. These include drug use, unprotected sex, and close contact with someone who has hepatitis.
