Smart Labs Now - 12003 NE Ainsworth Cir
Everything was good except for one thing... She did the quick results in front of me and I was very surprised and unprepared for one of the results to be a non-negative. It turned out to be because of a prescription that I'm on. It was very unsettling. They should ask about prescriptions and/or provide a list of medications that will affect the results. We have enough anxiety in society already.

I was able to choose a Quest lab location and schedule an appointment. Check in was easy, and I only needed to provide my name and DOB. They were able to locate my order in their system. They were already aware that my labs were paid for prior to the appointment. I had my labs done on a Wednesday, and I received my results by Saturday. Great experience.

Getting Tested for STDs in Ridgefield, WA

Who should get tested for STDs?

According to the CDC, sexually active individuals, especially those with multiple partners, should get tested for STDs. Additionally, individuals who engage in unprotected sex, share needles for drug use, or have been sexually assaulted should also consider getting tested. It's important to remember that STDs often show no symptoms, so regular testing is vital for anyone who is sexually active.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is crucial for several reasons. Firstly, many STDs are asymptomatic, meaning they show no symptoms. Without testing, you may unknowingly spread the disease to others. Secondly, untreated STDs can lead to serious health complications, including infertility, cancer, and increased risk of HIV. Lastly, early detection of STDs often leads to more effective treatment.

Std testing options in Ridgefield, WA:

Urgent care and walk-in clinics

Urgent care and walk-in clinics are excellent options for STD testing. These facilities often offer same-day appointments, reducing the waiting time for results. Legacy Health- GoHealth Urgent Care in Vancouver, WA, is a highly-rated nearby option with a 4.8 rating based on 13048 reviews. You can book an appointment at this location through Solv’s website and mobile app.

Primary care providers

Primary care providers are another reliable option for STD testing. They can provide ongoing care and treatment if an STD is detected. However, appointments may not be as readily available as in urgent care clinics.

Free STD testing and community health centers

Free STD testing is available at various community health centers. These facilities provide testing for individuals who may not have insurance or who cannot afford the cost of testing. However, the availability of appointments may vary.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits are another convenient option for STD testing. These kits can be ordered online, used in the privacy of your own home, and then sent back to a lab for analysis. Results are usually available within a few days.

Prevalence of STDs in Ridgefield

According to the CDC, the prevalence of STDs in Ridgefield, WA, and Columbia County is on par with national averages. However, nearby counties such as Lincoln County and Pierce County have reported higher rates of certain STDs. It's important to note that these numbers only reflect reported cases, and the actual number of infections may be higher due to undiagnosed cases.

Risk factors related to STDs in Ridgefield

Risk factors for STDs in Ridgefield are similar to those in other parts of the country. These include having multiple sexual partners, engaging in unprotected sex, sharing needles for drug use, and having a history of STDs. Certain demographic groups, such as young adults and men who have sex with men, are also at higher risk. It's important to understand these risk factors and take appropriate precautions to protect yourself and others.

Your doctor may also take a swab from the inside of your cheek, your vaginal area, or another potentially infected place.

  • What STDs can be detected by a blood test?

Blood tests are used to diagnose hepatitis B, hepatitis C, herpes, HIV, and syphilis.
