I’ve been coming to this office for a little over a month for an injury sustained at my workplace. Every time I was seen, the wait time was maybe 5 minutes, the office was clean, and the staff was knowledgeable and compassionate. I usually have a lot of anxiety about going to the dr but this office made me more comfortable and less anxious. I sincerely appreciate everything they have done for me.

Daughter had a fever off and on for 3 or 4 days. Stopped in and checked in with ease in a “modern way” with our phone. The receptionist was extremely kind as well. The physician and staff care and concern for my daughter went above and beyond. Never felt rushed or hurried to get us out of there and they gave care for two and a half hours running tests. Genuine and sincere care was given at all times. The follow up call the next morning by them insured the fact we will never go anywhere else in times of healthcare needs outside of our PCP.

A great experience for something I had a lot of anxiety about. Had no wait time or issues at the testing center/lab. Had blood drawn at 3pm and had results by email at 9am the next morning.

Getting Tested for STDs in Wildwood Lake, TN

STIs (sexually transmitted infections) are fairly common. You may be at risk of developing an STD or STI if you engage in sexual activity (sexually transmitted infection). STD cases have been on the rise for several years, according to the CDC, with 2.6 million new cases reported in 2019. Young people are especially vulnerable to sexually transmitted infections: approximately half of all new STD cases occur in people aged 15 to 24.

It's also possible to have an STD without any symptoms or indicators. You may unknowingly infect people if you are unaware that you have an STD. You may help avoid infection by getting tested for STDs and telling your current and prior sexual partners so that they can be tested as well. It's also possible to have an STD without any symptoms or indicators. General STD testing recommendations are as follows:

  • Everyone should be tested for HIV at least once, depending on their risk level. HIV testing should be done once a year for everyone who has had unprotected intercourse.
  • Once a year, sexually active women under the age of 25 should be tested for gonorrhea and chlamydia.
  • Sexually active women over 25 should be tested for gonorrhea and chlamydia once a year if they have an increased risk of infection, such as multiple sexual partners or a new partner.
  • Pregnant women should be tested for syphilis, HIV, and hepatitis B.
  • Sexually active gay men should have annual syphilis, chlamydia, and gonorrhea tests.

If you're experiencing symptoms, it's best to visit a doctor's office, where they can also treat you or issue you a prescription. • How long does it take to get STD test results?

Various testing are required for various STDs. Depending on the type of STD test you took, you may receive your results in two to ten days. Some outcomes may be immediately available. Your doctor may be able to diagnose an STD through a physical examination. In some cases, your doctor's office may only contact you if your test results are positive.

  • How much does an STD test cost in Wildwood Lake?

The cost of STD testing is governed by several factors, including where you are tested, the type of test you need, and if you have health insurance. Some Wildwood Lake clinics may offer free testing or testing on a sliding scale based on your income. Because of the cost, don't put off obtaining an STD test. With your doctor's office, discuss the cost and payment choices. Delaying STD treatment may have catastrophic implications.

  • How do they test for STDs in Wildwood Lake?

There are around 20 different forms of STDs, each with its own set of diagnostic tests. No single test exists that can detect all types of STDs. Your doctor can help you figure out which tests you'll need. In STD testing, a blood sample or a urine sample may be used. Your doctor may also take a swab from the inside of your cheek, your vaginal area, or another potentially infected place.

  • What STDs can be detected by a blood test?

Blood tests are used to diagnose hepatitis B, hepatitis C, herpes, HIV, and syphilis. In a laboratory, a technician examines a blood sample for antibodies that the body has produced in reaction to disease. The virus's DNA can also be detected by several blood tests. If you have a specific STD, inform your doctor so that the necessary test can be scheduled. Otherwise, they'll help you figure out which tests you'll need. The nurse or doctor simply needs a few minutes to get a blood sample, a urine sample, or a swab from the probable infection site.

  • Can I test myself for STDs at home?

Although there are several STD home tests available, not all of them are accurate. The accuracy of any STD test is determined by the quality of the sample taken. For home STD kits, a blood sample, a urine sample, or both are frequently required. Because doctors and nurses have more experience collecting samples, traditional in-office STD testing is the most accurate.
