Urgent Care FAQs

  • How much will an urgent care visit in College Station cost?

The price charged at an urgent care, whether in College Station or elsewhere, will be based on the location, and there are no actual standard costs between the clinics. Assuming you are paying with cash, you might come across an urgent clinic that charges you $50 while another situated some mile away charges you $100 for the same services. The standard cost in urgent care where insurance cover is not involved ranges from $100 to $125. This price is generally the standard price of a visit before extra services. There are a couple of additional care services that could make your appointment to an urgent care costly including x-rays and lab tests, medications and injections (such as immunization), casting broken bones, as well as stitches and splints. If you have a viable insurance plan in place, the standard pay will be between $20 – 50 depending on your insurance coverage and whether you are in contact with the provider.

  • What is urgent care?

Urgent care are available to assist patients that are looking for immediate, convenient medical care. In that manner, they are similar to an emergency room. The difference, however, is that ERs are meant to treat major, life-threatening injuries and illnesses while urgent care centers manage life’s minor bruises and bumps. In simple terms, an urgent care is seen as a walk-in health center that focuses in offering non-emergent health care conditions, including the treatment of the typical illnesses and injuries such as fractures and sprains, cuts and burns, scrapes, stings and bites, flu and cold symptoms, nausea and vomiting, abdominal pain, and much more. Most urgent care facilities offer both diagnostic and preventive care such as well visits, immunizations, STD testing and annual physicals. For regular visits and check-ups on these clinics, you should expect to pay between $20 and $100. The good thing is that most urgent care clinics will accept major PPOs and insurance cover, Medicare, as well as self-pay in the form of credit cards or cash. Urgent care clinics are located in most parts of the country in various regions to offset emergency room visits and provide a gap in healthcare services. They take patients during all hours of operations, which offer a significant convenience to most people who have and continue to undergo the need for sudden and immediate medical attention.

We were very pleased with our experience at Integrity Urgent Care! Staff was kind as well as understanding of our need to keep our toddler busy during the wait. During our appointment, PA Taylor was very thorough and spent a good amount of time talking to us and examining my son to get a full understanding of his needs. We were very thankful to walk away with answers as well as a means of addressing his illness. Having a sick child on holidays/weekends can be very stressful. Integrity Urgent Care helped ease this stress and with the care plan provided, our son started improving within hours. We are very grateful for the care he received.

This was my 1st time to come to Integrity Urgent Care, but it will definitely not be my last! Staff was friendly and professional. I was completely at ease at the clinic. Thank you.

I honestly am in total awe of the kindness, gentleness, and efficiency which occurred during my visit here. Everyone I spoke to was amazing, patient, understanding, knowledgeable, and accommodating. I hope to never have to visit an urgent care clinic again, but if the need arises, I will be coming here! Keep doing what you’re doing! Y’all are phenomenal!!! Thank you!!!

- Verified patient on 8/25

This was our first time to use Integrity Urgent Care and we will definitely be back if we need care in the future!! The staff was very friendly and helpful and got us in and out as quickly as possible.

I think this is the best urgent care facility in the Bryan College Station area. Staff is friendly and helpful and treat me like a special person. They care is superior and I could not ask for better care or treatment.

- Verified patient on 1/4

The wait was not optimal but totally understandable. They provided me and my mother with appropriate care and have helped prevent potentially chronic pain for me and have hopefully set my mom on the path to recovering from covid as she has asthma. Thank you very much for your treatment of me and if I go to A & M for college expect to be my go to urgent care center.

- Verified patient on 9/2

This is my new place to go for any urgent care needs. When I was looking for a place to get Covid testing, I ran into a brick wall wherever I went. Everyone is really frustrated because of the wait time to get tested, but when I called this clinic they were so kind and patient with me, that I felt like they deserved my business. The same was true when I showed up to actually get my test. They are just so patient oriented! I am grateful for that.

- Verified patient on 9/1

This is hands down the BEST urgent care in town! The receptionist, patient care specialist, and provider were all amazing. The scribe was very nice as well! 10/10 recommend!

- Verified patient on 11/1

I was greeted with smiles by everyone. Clean facility. PA David was very pleasant, answered all my questions and made sure I understood everything. They listened to my concerns. Superb experience…. Well for being sick and needing a visit to urgent care!

- Verified patient on 12/20

We made an appointment but weren't seen by a physician for over an hour, however, we understand that wait times can be longer during a pandemic. The staff was wonderful, as usual! This is our go-to for our urgent care needs.

- Verified patient on 9/24

Great place for urgent care. Have been to an Integrity Urgent Care before and it was a good experience. Everyone is kind and top notch. Facility is clean and well maintained. Integrity is my go to place for urgent care.

- Verified patient on 12/3

Always love coming to Aggieland for our family tailgate. Unfortunately, I tripped and fell face first on the rocks. We immediately loaded up and headed to the Urgent Care. We walked in and we’re immediately greeted and given paperwork that was made to be quick and simple. The nurse was waiting for me to sign and took me back immediately. PA Taylor came in and took a look and agreed stitches were going to be needed. He ensured that everything was appropriately numb and throughly cleaned my wound. He was concerned with getting stuff all over me when he started cleaning. He took great care to block my face so he could irrigate the wound well. He did a fantastic job with the sutures and I was up and outta there in no time. This team was awesome and ensured that I was taken care of and back at my tailgate in less than an hour and half. Can’t beat that! Thank you to the team for taking great care of me.

- Verified patient on 11/7

This location on University just west of Texas Ave was great. I contacted the other 2 locations on University east of Hwy 6 and Jones Crossing both told me they were not accepting walk in's. For something to be called urgent care and not accept walk in appointments is no different than a normal clinic. After my daughter got seen and was prognosed I was aking the doctor why the other 2 locations weren't walk in's, he told me that they don't deny the care for children regardless if they are taking walk ins or not. The other 2 locations were aware that the patient was a 20 month old with flu like symptoms and was denied to be seen. So it you want to have a great experience make you use the Integrity Urgent Care west of Texas Ave.

That was the quickest our pharmacy has ever gotten meds to us. I had the notification the meds were ready snd we hadn’t even left urgent care yet. Thank you

My first time at integrity urgent care. From start to finish the appointment was great! Mandy is a great NP! The young lady at the front desk is super friendly and kind. (Kendall maybe?) everyone was professional and friendly. I’ll definitely be back.

My favorite urgent care in College Station. The whole staff was extremely nice & I felt like they actually cared. The doctor took her time in helping me get better.

This was a great place for us to get urgent care; our 3 year old was treated with such kindness and patience, and they ruled out flu, Covid and rsv quickly! They worked with us as we are traveling today, and we’d definitely go there again!

- Verified patient on 11/21

This is the first time I've been seen by Integrity Urgent Care. I do want to say I was treated exceptionally well. I will return to this clinic again but I hope not soon🙂

- Verified patient on 10/11

I walked into Integrity Urgent Care today for my mild cold symptoms. I waited for a little bit, but nothing too bad considering I did not have an appointment. The staff there is so lovely and very polite, I was in and out in 2 hours at a very low copay with my insurance.

- Verified patient on 12/9

Everything was good! The clinic was clearly packed but they did their best to get us seen in a timely fashion! The staff were friendly and helpful and I would definitely recommend coming here if you need to go to an Urgent Care!

About Urgent Care

Urgent care is College Station's best option for quality medical care when you need it, offering walk-in appointments during extended hours and on weekends. Solv even has clinic partners in the College Station-area that offer online scheduling, allowing you to book a visit convenient to your schedule and skip the wait.

Walk-in clinics provide a convenient, fast alternative to emergency rooms—even primary care providers—treating minor injuries and illnesses including strep throat, infections, cold and flu symptoms, allergies, rashes, burns, bites, and more. Additionally, most offer preventative care including annual well exams, lab testing, and vaccinations.

When you’re in need of medical care for a non-life threatening condition, trust the urgent care providers nearby. And whenever possible, make it easier by scheduling and managing your visit with Solv.

Urgent Care Guide

In a recent survey conducted with the Urgent Care Association, Solv found that patients were waiting an average of 24 days for appointments with their primary care provider. In a world of instant gratification, consumers demand more. They demand now. If you want to watch a movie, you download it in minutes or stream it instantly. If you need groceries, you can pick up your phone and have them delivered to you within the hour. If you need restaurant reservations, you find one with availability, book online, walk in minutes later and sit right down. Healthcare shouldn’t be any different.

That’s why urgent care has been growing at a faster pace than any other healthcare service in the United States. And it is why healthcare consumers search for “urgent care” more than 5x more than “primary care” or “family doctor,” combined. These consumers are highly actionable, searching with high intent terms like “urgent care near me.” They want same day access to quality healthcare providers when they are sick or injured - after hours, one weekends and on holidays - without the cost and inconvenience of the emergency room.

Urgent care centers typically treat minor illnesses like the flu, sinus infections and strep throat, as well as injuries like bone fractures and sprains, cuts, scrapes and burns, making these clinics ideal for diagnosing and treating non-emergent healthcare needs. And at a growing rate urgent care clinics are offering preventative care services including annual physicals and well visits, flu shots and other immunizations and vaccines, taking on the role of primary care provider for the tens of millions of consumers that don’t have one.

For kids there are special pediatric urgent care centers, usually open after hours for patients between the ages of 1 and 18.

Urgent Care Services & Pricing

Urgent care centers, which are part of the walk-in clinic healthcare category, are a convenient resource for consumers needing treatment for minor illnesses and injuries. Services that you would normally receive at your primary care office are usually available at an urgent care including annual and school physicals, flu shots and immunizations, treatment for illnesses including colds, flu stomach pains, sinus and ear infections and more. You can also be seen for injuries such as burns, bites, sprains and breaks - things that you might first thing to go to the emergency room vs urgent care, but you’ll have a shorter wait and smaller bill at the urgent care. As for cost, without insurance, you should expect between $100-140 for your visit, plus the cost of any labs, tests or images. With insurance, urgent care will be similar to seeing a specialist with applicable co-pay.

Insurance & Payments

Nearly all urgent care centers take commercial insurance and many (if not most) will take medicare. As such if you have insurance coverage, you can expect the financial experience to be similar to visiting a specialist where you have a co-pay, usually $35-50, due at the time of the visit. Any additional lab work, x-rays or other tests performed will be billed against your insurance first and any supplemental balance due will be invoiced to you after the fact. Without insurance, you’ll pay a visit fee between $100-140 at the time of your visit. This is typically 25-50% more than your primary care provider, but usually the convenience is well worth the additional cost. If you are interested in a telehealth or video visit, your cost could be as much as 50% less than an urgent care, you could be diagnosed and prescribed medication and you’ll never have to leave your home.

Urgent Care Hours & Wait Times

Every urgent care center - even those part of the same group or brand - may have different hours. While they are meant to be conveniently accessible during times when your primary care provider is not, that’s subjective and highly variable. A traditional formula, however, is that an urgent care is open 6 to 7 days a week usually between the hours of 8 am to 8 pm. That could shift to nearly any 8-12 hour period between 7 am and 10 pm. You’ll even find some clinics open 24 hours a day, similar to an emergency room. As for wait time, most patients report waiting between 15-45 minutes on average, but that can certainly vary, as well. It’s usually best to find an urgent care near you to either confirm the hours online, or call the clinic directly to verify. Or, you can book a same day doctor appointment online with Solv.
