I wasn’t too happy with my latest experience, felt rushed because it was the end of the day and didn’t leave feeling relieved about my sons diagnosis. thankfully his pediatrician called after seeing that my son visited and gave me better feedback.

Had a sore throat for days. I always get strep throat. Most common strep test came out negative so swabbed for a test that tests more strains but results take a day or two and it is Friday! While waiting for my strain test to come back and after exam prescribed antibiotics and throat spray. Fast friendly service which is much appreciated when you feel so bad. Thanks to all the staff.

My son was seen by an advanced practice provider. I understand that we are moving away from inappropriate prescription of antibiotics, steroids, cough suppressants and other cold medicines. However, we must also make sure to prescribe these meds when clinically indicated. If you have a child with a history of an upper respiratory infection that improved but later he became sick again, ill for over a week, poor appetite, coughing and shortness of breath with minimal exertion.... and on exam they clearly have crackles and ronchi on the left lower lobe.... it's pneumonia! You don't tell them to just rest and it will go away. We had to advocate for an xray, that showed... pneumonia! Their original plan was to not send antibiotics because it was "likely viral" and "wouldn't change the management". Thank goodness the plan changed and antibiotics were prescribed because I was working on taking him to the ER instead. I get it, you don't have to treat with antibiotics every time but if the kid has been sick for almost 2 weeks and is getting worse... not better... I expect better understanding of the whole clinical picture from an urgent care. Or staff the your facility with doctors (MDs/DOs) instead.

My daughter had been physically sick all night we came into the office as a walk in and were seen pretty quickly I enjoy the ease of having our info saved for future visits. The staff is always friendly but this last visit I felt like the Dr overseeing my daughter’s care had been dismissive of my concerns for her. I provided her medical history and my concerns for her wellbeing and it felt like everything I said he had something to dismiss about it as if I wasn’t being truthful. I’d like to add that because the dr overseeing her care didn’t bother to do any testing my daughter ended up in the hospital for 8 days to treat a kidney infection after her symptoms were dismissed as a stomach virus she suffered an additional 3 days before we decided to take her somewhere else for a second opinion because she wasn’t getting any better. If I was aware of how to file a complaint on him I would!

My son wasn’t feeling good and had a sore throat, I was able to take him in as a walk-in and there was no wait time. We were seen immediately and they were able to figure out a diagnosis, he got prescribed some medication. They did an amazing job and I love going to this urgent care for children. I definitely recommend the provider, she is always amazing!

My daughter was seen on Sunday. The office visit was $175. They said her ear was just a “little red” and was prescribed amoxicillin. She went from a “little red” to an ear rupture within 2 days. I called to seek advice if she should still take her perscription or next steps which their only answer was to bring her back and pay another $175.

The wait takes a little while but honestly that’s to be expected when you’re at any hospital or clinic. Everyone is very kind and accommodating. Always a very clean clinic. Only thing I would recommend is to turn the tv down in the lobby. When you’re ill and or having a headache all day the last thing you want to hear is the tv blaring. Thanks bunches ladies

These folks got it all down!! Will never make the mistake and go to a different urgent care closer to me. Scheduled less than 1 hour before arriving at end of day like possibly the last patients and they took excellent care of my daughter. So quickly and testing completed rapidly . The provider was very kind and understanding. She met our needs and meds were given there . Pharmacy got the order we picked up before 9pm. The staff was all amazing !! Thank you for your service ❤️. 10 out of 10 would recommend.

About Professional Ear Wax Removal

Dirt, bacteria, and other small particles that could irritate your ear canal and cause hearing loss are shielded by ear wax. On the other side, too much ear wax can obstruct your ear canal and cause hearing loss. Knowing how to safely and effectively remove ear wax can help you safeguard your hearing and ear health.

Why do we have ear wax?

Ear wax is a natural substance that protects your ears by trapping microscopic debris like dust and bacteria that might otherwise injure them. According to the National Library of Medicine, ear wax also protects the sensitive skin inside your ear canal from water-related irritation (NLM).

As it moves from the inside of your ears to the outside of the ear canal, ear wax gathers dead skin cells, debris, and hair. According to Harvard Medical School, ear wax has antibacterial and antifungal properties, making it an effective natural ear cleanser. It continues by stating that if your ears do not produce or hold enough ear wax, they will be itchy and unpleasant.

Treatment of a common ear condition

Ear wax removal, according to the National Library of Medicine, can help you prevent and avoid hearing loss. According to the National Library of Medicine, most cases of ear wax buildup can be treated at home using treatments that soften the wax so it can be easily removed or washed out. It goes on to state that you may need to seek medical help in some circumstances to avoid injuring your ears or causing an infection.

According to the National Library of Medicine, hearing loss caused by ear wax buildup is usually temporary and disappears after the blockage is removed. Hearing loss that persists after wax removal should be checked and treated by a physician.

The side effects of excessive ear wax

Excessive ear wax can cause ear discomfort and hearing problems, according to the National Library of Medicine. According to the National Library of Medicine, ear wax buildup is associated with ear pain, a perception of blocked ears, and tinnitus (inner ear noises). It's also possible that you have a partial hearing loss that gets worse with time.

The development of ear wax

Ear wax is also known as cerumen. It is a mixture of secretions from sebaceous glands and sweat glands in the outer ear canal's walls, according to Harvard Medical School.

Secretions flow through the inner ear canal and into the outer ear canal when you chew or talk with your jaw, where they dry out and flake. This allows older ear wax deposits to flow out or be removed more easily, according to Harvard Medical School.

Where wax comes from

According to Harvard Medical School, ear wax is a natural ear cleanser produced by glands in the ear canal to protect your ears from harmful dirt and other waste. No one knows why some people have more ear wax problems than others, according to the article.

Older adults with coarse, wiry hairs in their ears have more ear wax buildup problems than others, according to the University of Texas at Austin. Because some hearing aids are designed in such a way that wax cannot easily flow out of the ear canal, hearing aid users have more ear wax than non-users.

Ear wax removal tips

Cotton swabs are frequently used to remove ear wax buildup. Many medical experts advise against using this treatment, according to UC San Diego, because it can push wax deeper into the ear canal. It goes on to state that using wax-softening ear drops, which can be obtained at practically any pharmacy, is the easiest way to clean your ears.

To soften ear wax, the National Library of Medicine suggests using baby oil or mineral oil. With a small piece of cloth or tissue wrapped around your finger, you may simply remove the wax from the outer ear canal once you can see it.

The National Library of Medicine recommends consulting a doctor if you're having problems removing ear wax. A doctor can employ other irrigation procedures, as well as a curette or suction equipment, to remove ear wax.

Tips for hearing-aid wearers

Hearing aid users should have their ear canals inspected for additional wax every three to six months, according to the National Library of Medicine. Ear wax is responsible for 60 percent to 70% of hearing aid degradation, according to Harvard Medical School. If you wear a hearing aid, have your doctor check your ears for ear wax buildup at least once every six months.
