Urgent care
I have been miserable. I don’t like going to the doctor because I think “I’ll get better”. Went to acute care. OMG. In and out within 30 mins. The provider gave me multiple RXs to deal with my issues. Horrible cough, congestion, headache, itchy eyes…definitely miserable. Four days later…feeling better.

Urgent care
Scheduling was easy, I did it the night before. When I arrived, I was 2nd in line according to their link, and there didn’t seem to be many people there. Still, it took over an hour to be taken back and nearly 2 hours when all was said and done. This is my Urgent Care clinic of choice, but I’ve never seen this doctor before and it’s never taken this long in the past. Still, I would continue to use this clinic. Staff were friendly and my prescription was sent to my pharmacy promptly.

Urgent care
When checking in at the Texas MedClinic waiting time was lengthy, but once we were called to the back. The Medical Assistant was absolutely very Thorough has a excellent personality I would like if Esther skills were passed on to the intire team. The Doctor also was very thorough and explaining over the treatment and follow up. I diffently would recommend this facility. Just make sure and register online before arriving so it can cut down on the waiting time.

Urgent care in Boerne, TX

Boerne is a German-heritage Hill Country town northwest of San Antonio, growing rapidly with new master-planned communities along I-10 and SH-46. CHRISTUS Santa Rosa and Methodist Healthcare anchor local care. Compare local clinics or extend to the broader urgent care in San Antonio network.

What services do urgent care clinics in Boerne offer?

Urgent care clinics in Boerne, TX treat respiratory illness, lacerations, sports physicals, hill country recreation injuries, and routine pediatric care. CHRISTUS Santa Rosa anchors the closest large hospital with Methodist Healthcare operating ER and clinic locations along I-10; Texas MedClinic and several independent walk-in clinics provide additional capacity along Main Street and SH-46.2

Most Boerne-area urgent care clinics are open seven days a week, with extended weekday and weekend hours, on-site digital X-ray, basic in-house labs (rapid strep, flu, COVID-19, urinalysis), and standard suturing capability. Cash-pay rates and copays should be confirmed at booking; many clinics post transparent self-pay pricing online. Booking through Solv lets you compare clinic distance, real-time wait, and reviews before you commit, which often saves time during peak respiratory season (October–February) and back-to-school physical season (July–August).

Does urgent care in Boerne accept Texas STAR Medicaid?

Yes. Most Boerne urgent care clinics accept Texas STAR Medicaid managed-care plans, administered by Texas Health and Human Services.1 Verify your MCO is in-network before booking. KFF reports Kendall County, where Boerne sits, has below-average Medicaid enrollment compared with statewide rates.3

In addition to STAR, Texas runs CHIP (children's coverage), STAR+PLUS (Medicaid + Medicare for adults with disabilities), STAR Kids (Medicaid for children with disabilities), and STAR Health (foster care). Coverage rules differ across programs — patients should bring their MCO ID card, a state-issued photo ID, and any referral paperwork to a Boerne urgent care visit. If you're unsure whether a clinic accepts your specific Medicaid plan, call the clinic before booking or use Solv's in-network filter to narrow the list.

How does Boerne urgent care relate to San Antonio?

Boerne sits about 30 miles northwest of downtown San Antonio along I-10, in the Texas Hill Country. With an estimated 21,300 residents per U.S. Census Bureau QuickFacts,4 Boerne anchors fast-growing Kendall County and serves as a regional retail hub for surrounding ranch and tourist communities. Founded by 19th-century German immigrants, the town retains a distinct cultural identity and Hauptstrasse downtown. For specialty care or after-hours visits, residents route to urgent care in San Antonio.

For most non-life-threatening problems, an urgent care visit is faster and considerably less expensive than the ER. KFF research consistently shows the average emergency department visit costs several times what a comparable urgent care visit costs, even before insurance.3 Patients in Boerne who can't get into a local urgent care clinic often have shorter waits at clinics in adjacent suburbs, and most major hospital networks — including CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital – Westover Hills — share medical records across affiliated locations, so visiting a sister clinic generally doesn't fragment your care.

Common reasons Boerne residents book urgent care include sore throats, ear infections, urinary tract infections, sprains and minor fractures, lacerations, low-grade fevers, mild allergic reactions, rashes, eye irritation, and routine school or sports physicals. For chest pain, stroke symptoms (sudden weakness, slurred speech, vision loss), severe abdominal pain, head injury with confusion or loss of consciousness, major bleeding, severe burns, or any breathing difficulty, the ER — including Methodist Boerne ER (and CHRISTUS Santa Rosa – Westover Hills further south) — is the right choice. Telehealth is another option for clear-cut viral illnesses or prescription refills, and many Boerne-area urgent care brands offer same-day virtual visits in addition to in-person care.

Yes. Boerne urgent care clinics regularly treat hiking, biking, kayaking, and tubing injuries from the Cibolo Creek, Guadalupe River, and Hill Country state parks — sprains, lacerations, dehydration, and tick-borne concerns. For severe head injuries, suspected fractures, or major trauma, go to the ER rather than urgent care.
