MedExpress Urgent Care, Timberlake - 21054 Timberlake Rd, Lynchburg
I was required to have a COVID19 test done and while the wait was very long, like 3 hours or something, everyone I spoke to and dealt with were so nice and polite and patient. You could tell they were exhausted. I had 31 people ahead of me when I registered. But again no one was rude or cross or anything. I would definitely recommend and/or go back as needed. I got my results in 2 days. The nurse didn’t hurt me when she did the test and this is my 3rd COVID19 test and both of the others hurt so bad. You all are very appreciated and thank you for being kind. Side note, please be kind to these doctors and nurses. They are dealing with all the regular fall illnesses and COVID testing and a thank you would really mean a lot to them.

Getting Tested for STDs in Lynchburg, VA

Who should get tested for STDs?

According to the CDC, everyone who is sexually active should get tested for STDs, especially those with multiple partners. It's important to note that even if you're in a monogamous relationship, getting tested at least once is still recommended. This is because many STDs are asymptomatic, meaning they show no symptoms, and can be passed unknowingly between partners.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is crucial for several reasons. Firstly, early detection can prevent serious health complications such as infertility, certain types of cancer, and increased risk of HIV. Secondly, knowing your status can help prevent the spread of STDs to others. Finally, getting tested can provide peace of mind and is a critical part of maintaining overall sexual health.

Std testing options in Lynchburg, VA:

Urgent care and walk-in clinics

Both clinics have received positive reviews for their short wait times and clean facilities. Appointments can be booked same-day or next-day through Solv's website or mobile app.

Primary care providers

Primary care providers are another reliable option for STD testing. If you have a primary care provider, they can often provide testing services or refer you to a specialist. It's important to remember that your healthcare provider is there to support you, and all discussions and test results are confidential.

Free STD testing and community health centers

For those without insurance or who are unable to afford testing, free STD testing is available at local community health centers. These centers often offer walk-in appointments, making it convenient for those with busy schedules.

At-home testing

At-home STD testing is another option for those who prefer privacy. These tests can be ordered online, taken at home, and sent back to a lab for analysis. Results are typically available within a few days.
