Scheduling was easy via Solv, but no coordination between Solv and the office resulted in multiple duplicate bookings and unacceptable wait time.  2:30 appointment confirmed by Solv, actual check-in 4:55.  Staff was friendly and courteous, but front desk staff was overwhelmed.  Provider and staff were prompt once I was checked in and appointment was quick and efficient.  Care and bedside manner were top notch.

Mary Bridge Children's Urgent Care is my favorite urgent care to go to. Convenient online scheduling, easy check-in process, fast wait times, concerns are addressed appropriately, friendly staff, and you're out in about an hour from start to finish. The only area that could be improved is if you have questions after your appointment, it's hard to get a hold of anyone, and then you don't get a call back. I highly recommend Mary Bridge Children's Urgent Care

Overview of STD Testing in Fife

Who should get tested for STDs?

Anyone who is sexually active should consider getting tested for STDs, especially if they have multiple partners or are not consistently using protection. This includes individuals in Fife, WA, as well as in nearby cities such as Milton, Waller, Edgewood, Tacoma, and Puyallup. It's important to remember that many STDs can be asymptomatic, meaning you could be infected and not know it. According to the CDC, regular testing is the best way to protect your health and the health of your partners.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is crucial for several reasons. Firstly, many STDs do not show symptoms, so testing is the only way to know for sure if you have one. Secondly, untreated STDs can lead to serious health complications, including infertility, certain types of cancer, and increased risk of HIV. Lastly, knowing your status can help prevent the spread of STDs to others.

STD testing options in Fife, WA:

Urgent care and walk-in clinics

Urgent care and walk-in clinics are convenient options for STD testing in Fife, WA. These facilities often offer same-day or next-day appointments, which can be booked through Solv’s website and mobile app. For instance, Indigo in Tacoma, WA, and Tran Urgent Care & Wellness Centers also in Tacoma, WA, are highly rated and easily accessible.

Primary care providers

Your primary care provider is another option for STD testing. They can provide a comprehensive sexual health check-up, and if you have commercial insurance through your employer, this service is often covered.

For those without insurance or with limited income, free STD testing may be available at community health centers in and around Fife. It's important to check with each center regarding their testing services and eligibility requirements.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits are another option for those who prefer privacy or convenience. These kits can be ordered online, used at home, and then sent back to a lab for analysis.

Prevalence of STDs in Fife

While specific data for Fife is not readily available, Pierce County, where Fife is located, has seen a rise in STD rates over the past few years, mirroring a national trend according to the CDC. This rise emphasizes the importance of regular testing and safe sexual practices.

Risk factors related to STDs in Fife

Risk factors for STDs in Fife are similar to those in other areas of the country.
