Staff was so great - Reception was spot on friendly. MA was patient, but quick and helpful. Provider, Heidi Nordling, was effucient, and instuctive with needed care at office and our home follow up care. She kept us updated re: status during visit and even rechecked for the XRAY report before we left. Then, she expedited the school absence letter. She was very professional and personable. - a real gem for Urgent Care. This Urgent Care for kids is my top choice.

Wow! First time at this urgent care and my experience was 10/10. The front desk was very kind and mannered. Blessing took me in and she was so sweet, kind and very caring. Dr. Spencer took time to talk to me and I felt very heard and understood. I got treated for what I came in for and prescribed antibiotics. May I also include how darn clean the whole clinic was?? Seriously just so very impressed! Thank you Indigo urgent care Lakeland Hills for the wonderful experience! I hope my health will be well but if ever needed, this will be my location to go to!

Overview of STD Testing in Edgewood

Who should get tested for STDs?

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that anyone who is sexually active should get tested for sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). This includes individuals who have multiple sexual partners, those who have had unprotected sex, and those who suspect they may have been exposed to an STD. It is also recommended for individuals in a new sexual relationship to get tested, as well as those who have a partner who has tested positive for an STD. Regular testing is a crucial step in maintaining sexual health, as many STDs can be asymptomatic, meaning they do not show any signs or symptoms.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is essential for several reasons. Firstly, many STDs do not exhibit symptoms immediately, or at all, and can only be detected through testing. If left untreated, these infections can lead to severe health complications, including infertility, certain types of cancer, and increased risk of HIV. Secondly, knowing your STD status can help protect your sexual partners from infection. Finally, early detection and treatment can often cure or effectively manage STDs, reducing the risk of long-term health problems. According to the CDC, regular testing is an essential part of sexual health.
